That is a good point. Obi-Wan really should have just put Anakin out of his misery at that point. Not sure what his purpose was for keeping him there with most of his limbs cut off and him burning. There could have been a different way to explain Anakin becoming Vader that wouldn't be so silly. Even if it had been shown that something happened where Obi-Wan assumed he died (like he fell or something and he wasn't able to get to him) rather than just being pretty sure before he left.

I agree, they should have had Kenobi kill him with a head stab. They could pass that off since pasty old crusty Anakin has that big scar on his head. Say maybe the force brought him back to life or some gibberish like Anakin finally at the end learned to keep things from dying.

This is even more absurd considering that jedi can feel each other presence. And is also absurd that Anakin (or Obi-Wan) could not perceive that Padme had two babies.

I'm not being funny the guy cut off all his limbs and then watched him burn! Who knew that he would somehow be discovered alive and then placed into a live saving mechanical suit? I am pretty sure I would have left him for dead as well.

I liked that Obi-wan left him. It can be viewed a number of different ways but I've always thought of it as a failing of Obi-wan to remain dispassionate and true to his Jedi training.

On the one hand it could be seen as Obi-wan being unable to deliver the killing blow and effectively execute defenseless Ani due to his love and attachment towards his "brother". Alternatively (and my preferred view point), is that Obi-wan knew Anakin's injuries would cause a slow and painful death and left him to to it. Obi-wan wanted to punish Anakin for betraying him and the Jedi order but also for forcing Obi-wan to kill him - Obi-wan let his feelings/emotions cloud his judgement ... which is not the jedi way and this weakness ultimately allowed for the creation of Darth Vader.

Of course Lucas probably didn't think any of this and was only concerned with getting the pieces in the right place for ANH.

I thought the Star Wars movies didn't pay mind to that Clone Wars stuff ?

Technically the movies aren't supposed to contradict anything from Clone Wars and Rebels since Disney has labeled them as canon. Saw Gerrera originated in CW and Chopper the droid and the the Ghost starship from Rebels were both glimpsed in RO.

As Khev said, its canon. Not only that, but the movies are intertwined with the toons, not offset. Like the tiny interaction in RO, which is supposed to become more apparent in Rebels S4, but if you watch the prequel films things like Cody's betrayal seem glib and happenstance on-screen, but after watching all the **** these people have endured together in Clone Wars and realizing everything that happened between the two movies, it makes it seem like a major back-stab. Also, if you haven't watched all the Clone Wars some of the choices like having General Greivous sound SOB at all times must seem pretty strange without having watched the cause.

Currently re-watch Clone Wars, up to ss3 now and love it!

Really wish Hot Toys start jumping into PT-Clone Wars soon, especially Obi Wan, Grievous, Dooku, Padme, Clone troopers. Im sick of those figures keep coming from TFA/TLJ line...its production rate just like hamster breeding :monkey4.

Out of curiosity what are you going to do if Hayden pops up in TLJ? Will you be changing your tune then?

I could'nt care less... there was a rumor of Hayden will appear as force ghost in TLJ, but that wont guarantee anything about entire movie performance.

Needless to say, I just want to collect figures of favorite characters from OT-PT-Clone Wars, it just extremely fun to display all of them. Not just the hobby, but just look at them remind me so much of how memorable, unique characterisics of each characters when I first saw the films. I just dont have that "feeling" for the Sequel.

Fair enough. Ford, Hamill, and Fisher do go a long way toward validating the sequels for me (though the jury will be out until Episode IX) and I was curious whether Hayden might do the same for you.

Funny, as a Star Wars fan, all the films are held dear to my heart. I couldn't have some and not the others. Even though I don't think I-III are that great of films, the stories are still good at their core and i can enjoy them even though the performances aren't very good. Its still the SW universe and thats all i really care about is spending time being entertained by my favorite films.

Honestly i dont know how a Star Wars fan couldn't like TFA, but that's just me. It's really only people i see online though which to me i'm like "whatever". All of my friends and family love Star Wars especially TFA. But if people don't like it, so be it. They have a right to their own opinions, but its just their opinion, not everyone's.

And I am not one of those Lucas ruined my childhood after I-III either. Far far far from it. I give all the credit in the world to Lucas because he created my favorite film franchise of all time. He's given me a lot of joy in my life through his films and collecting. I just don't think he deserved any of that hate he got over the years for I-III. A film shouldn't ruin your life. If it does, then I think those people have some other issues, not GL. :lol

anyway, the proto of this Anakin looks fantastic!!! I am on the fence about getting it because of all TLJ stuff coming and I am still trying to catch up on some other figures like Tarkin. My hope is Anakin won't sell out before its released so i can maybe pick him up later on. :)

Yes I love Hayden Christensen, Ewan Mcgregor, Natalie Portman - 3 trio cast for the PT. Rest for the Sequels, you were right, still 2 more eps for the jury.

Such a great post. I ordered this figure day one. I think it looks great and I want to be able to show the evolution of Anakin to Darth Vader (whenever HT decides to release an ESB Vader).

For the most part, I come in to threads of all properties (SW, Marvel, and DC for the most part) to share in the joy of these figures. But for whatever reason, the SW threads always have the most negativity (not counting the Molecule8 Lennon thread :lol).

As you perfectly stated, movies are meant to entertain and enrich our lives by injecting wonder and imagination through the eyes of their respective creators. If I don't enjoy a movie, I move on. It's hard for me to invest so much negativity into anything. We only get so much time on earth...

:goodpost: yeah, i mean its Star Wars, for entertainment and collecting there is nothing more special to me. I have had too much fun being part of the universe ever since I was a little kid, there is really nothing that will ever take that away. I got star wars stuff when i was a kid, i collected all through college, and now today my wife will surprise me with star wars things from time to time. I go to a store and see an ad or banner for Star Wars my eyes still light up with wonder and happiness. TFA brought back all those feelings for me after seeing it on opening night too. I think it did with most people, just a select few maybe not. But the vast majority of people who saw it loved it. And whatever if people are sick of it. To me that's their problem. I mean if it was up to me, I would want Star Wars stuff everywhere. :lol

Yeah negativity sucks on forums and online. its filled with it. Seems to overtake conversations and things can get ugly. I try to spread enjoyment from time to time so if anyone ever wants to talk SW just send me a PM. Happy to talk about collecting or the films :)
