So well stated - you worked that excitement of seeing new banners perfectly. I fell out of Star Wars for a while but TFA brought me back in. I graduated from college in May, and am currently anticipating my Snowtrooper from SS while geeking out over clearance Lego X-Wings with a friend. My girlfriend and I regularly discuses the franchise future. Star Wars just doesn't go away, it seems. And unlike other franchise, even big ones like Lord of the Rings, there is something positively timeless here.

Funny, as a Star Wars fan, all the films are held dear to my heart. I couldn't have some and not the others. Even though I don't think I-III are that great of films, the stories are still good at their core and i can enjoy them even though the performances aren't very good. Its still the SW universe and thats all i really care about is spending time being entertained by my favorite films.

Honestly i dont know how a Star Wars fan couldn't like TFA, but that's just me. It's really only people i see online though which to me i'm like "whatever". All of my friends and family love Star Wars especially TFA. But if people don't like it, so be it. They have a right to their own opinions, but its just their opinion, not everyone's.

And I am not one of those Lucas ruined my childhood after I-III either. Far far far from it. I give all the credit in the world to Lucas because he created my favorite film franchise of all time. He's given me a lot of joy in my life through his films and collecting. I just don't think he deserved any of that hate he got over the years for I-III. A film shouldn't ruin your life. If it does, then I think those people have some other issues, not GL. :lol

anyway, the proto of this Anakin looks fantastic!!! I am on the fence about getting it because of all TLJ stuff coming and I am still trying to catch up on some other figures like Tarkin. My hope is Anakin won't sell out before its released so i can maybe pick him up later on. :)

Gotta echo what other's have already said. Excellent post.

thanks everyone. :)

with a lot of negativity there is online, its good to see something positive once in a while. People sharing good memories and thoughts about their favorite films. I think that gets lost in here a lot, and online in general. But that is what Freaks is for, sharing enjoyment for the movies and collectibles. But its hard to find that on here sometimes. Thats why I don't post much anymore.

Actually tonight i realized i hadn't seen the new TLJ SH Figuarts Star Wars stuff coming out and I had to search around to a bunch of different vendors to see if they still have them available for PO as most were sold out. When i saw the new Rey and most were sold out, i was like nooooooo. Luckily i found one that had her available still. phewwww!!!:lol

Wow thank God there is some positivity in this thread. I hadn't wanted to post for a long time because it seemed so toxic in the Star Wars threads. There shouldn't be constant arguments between OT fans and PT fans. This should be a place we come together. Great post morphosis! I get those same butterflies when anything Star Wars crosses my eye. It's a deep love for me and I'm glad so many of you feel the same. I got out of collecting for a while, but I'm going to start slowly again. It kind of got out of hand before and I had to cut it off cold turkey. But it was seeing this figure that got the passion flowing again. I absolutely love Revenge of the Sith, and it is my favorite Star Wars film. Empire is a close second, but nothing will ever top the immense hype I felt for it ever since I walked out of Attack of the Clones on opening day. When I finally saw it with my brother on opening day at our crappy local theater, I was in heaven. By far, Revenge of the Sith has the BEST opening sequence of any Star Wars film (in my opinion haha). From the opening starfighter chase, to the fight with Dooku, to meeting Grievous, and to Anakin landing the capital ship, it is just non-stop. To see Hayden fully recreated from that opening fight with Dooku made my jaw drop. It is one of Hot Toys finest sculpts as well! I'm desperately hoping they tackle Dooku and Obi-Wan at least so I can retire my old hasbro Dooku and SS Kenobi.

Although I don't love every film equally, they all still hold a special place in my heart. The films and the characters are like family, and it always feels so good to go back and see them again from time to time. It's nice to know they haven't changed. :lol

Though I will admit over time, TFA has lost its luster for me when I see the blatant similarities to ANH. I still enjoy the new things they did, like the Kylo Ren character and the massive character development of Han Solo, and a stormtrooper rebelling and going rogue, but the whole Death Star size comparison was a bit much, and I felt they went over the same story beats that we've already seen before (hero on desert planet, Death Star weapon). Regardless, I'm growing more and more excited for The Last Jedi with each passing day, and I'm contemplating putting in an order for Kylo. The sculpt looks dead on, and I'm almost certain he will be seeking revenge for what Rey did to him in TFA, so I'm expecting a huge presecence on screen. And the rumors that Hayden may make an appearance as either a force ghost or a flashback is really exciting. I really appreciate how they are connecting the new films to all the films, not just the OT. Anyways, it seems to be the best time ever to be a Star Wars fan and it feels great to spend time in the universe we all love.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

Exactly. I'm an old school OT fan having seen all the originals several times in the theater the first time they were released. As much as I would love to have a Tarkin on my shelf I'd rather have a character with more possible action poses like Anakin than the old man. Both figures are done really well but from a visual aspect Anakin is a much more interesting character to look at on the shelf.

I wish I could've been around to have seen the OT in theaters. I can't imagine the feeling being there at the beginning. You make a good point about Tarkin, but I doubt they'll make another version of him. I'm pretty surprised they decided to make him. I'm actually planning on putting a limit on myself and getting 3 figures from each Trilogy.

PT: Anakin, Obi-Wan, Count Dooku
OT: ROTJ Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Tarkin
ST: Snoke, TLJ Luke, TLJ Kylo

With those trios, I think I'll have all my favorite characters covered. :)

Haha if I have to limit myself to 3 OT characters, it has to be the 3-headed monster. Always been a fan of the empire, so it's gotta be them. Never wanted to dip my toe into troopers. There's so many variants.

Saw Alien for the first time the other night, thought it sucked but I don't go into the Ripley thread to tell them they're all arguing over a lesser film than Predator. Some people like the anonymity of online to bug those who don't agree with their particular, stubborn opinions.

Don't want to argue with relative strangers over mass media on a toy forum lol. I can understand that people who saw Alien back in '79 still think it's great. I've seen bits of the Aliens movies before, but they're basically sci-fi monster movies to me.

That's 50% of what happens on here. Usually after someone says xyz movie sucks.
