I wanted to ask about something I was just thinking of... Ironman armor runs on ther Arc Reactor chest piece thing... So looking at the figure and the movie it not very well protected looking just a thin layer of glass maybe bullet proof over it... So what I was thinking and wondering was has anyone ever got lucky and shot it and Tony was stuck inside of the armor because there was no power source? Just wondering...

Hmmm? ..id say tony came up with some super unbreakable glass or something for the mark 2 onwards ..but his arc reactor was defiantly to exposed on the mark 1 realistically he would have made sure 2 cover it up knowing full well he will be encountering machine gun fire ..but thats really down to it being a film ..that suit wouldn't be half as cool if the arc reactor was hidden.

I can also imagine that it must generate some heat. So if the glass was covered up he would have had to install a large heatsink over top of it :lol
As for the neck mod I am happy with mine (I actually don't think the head will pop out even upside down but don;t lift hte figure by the head much like the DX02) and I prefer to have the option of reversing them

What if i like u split the neck apart and replace the red rubber with a custom piece that would allow the ball joint to go right up into the very back of the head but keep it in place ..something like a rubber hoop like piece ..i just don't want to cut into the red rubber one that came with the figure ..
O and geil if u have time can u post more pics of the neck on your figure from different angles and a full body shot?

One could gain a few 1/16" over the stock one by glueing the socket form a narrow neck as those should be pretty common. But you will have to use gluegun to hold it in. You could also just cut that one to get real close.

I had thought about doing that alright ..i have a broken truetype lying around in my room somewhere i can get if off him id say ..but i will try putting it on loose like you did first and see how that is b4 i do anything else ..how minimal is the damage done to the neck after prying apart the seam ..and how much of it can be seam once dropped into the body?

well I purposely chose my "hack" point to be on the lower edge so it's not visible when the neck is inserted. The two halves of the neck are glued together so not much damage beyond the entry point of the knife. I didn't even bother glueing it back together (same as the narrow neck for Tony HS) the parts hold together tight enough not to fall apart.

That modified one is the bomb, the neck is what kept me from a MIII BD, but after seeing this I might just go for it and get one to modify it.

I think his mod may have 1/16"-1/8" on me by removing parts of the ball joint..

Damn that neck is almost nonexistant on the actual suit :(

Does the chest come apart after the two screws are off on the back? Or do I take the screws out, pop the arms off and then the chest will come apart?

Also in step 3, when you say to pull the redish rubber piece, are you talking about that one piece above the arms in your pic?

In step 4, you are talking about pull the chest apart right?

The arms are not holding the chest together.

Reddish rubber is above the head. This covers the shoulder hole where the shoulder sockets are. Its glued to the front and back chest pieces. You'll only need to peel it off the front chest piece.

Screws detached, rubber at the shoulder hole peeled, The chest should come apart..
