Actually my horizontal light bar is full bright, the vertical is half bright,

WHAT!? Not another discrepancy to obsess about! DAMN YOU, PJAM! :)

OK, here's what I got: vertical bar light at top portion... horizontal bar has light where it meets vertical bar. NEITHER of my bars is "full" bright, meaning the light is fully lit. I thought that was a style choice for accuracy.

This is interesting. P, you horizontal bar has 2 lights in it?

I got my loader a couple of hours ago.
I didn't have much of a problem with the back pistons, one was stuck, and the black cap came off. I think it wasn't glued on at all, not much of a problem. The other piston wasn't stuck, it moves pretty well.
Got that one piston unstuck with a bit more force, no issues there.

But the cage lights won't turn on. The dome light works though. I read the instructions, it didn't clearly say that the cage lights up with the same button. So is there another button or some trick?

I'd HATE to return another Hot Toys product. I've been having nothing but problems with their stuff lately. :(
I think I'd rather just keep this and suffer with a defective product then try and return it.
:banghead

The gears for my dome light are busted and I've already contacted Sideshow about a replacement, don't know if you went through them or not, but I'm waiting to hear back as to whether I can just get the body unit replaced without sending back/replacing the whole thing since it's all in top shape aside from the lights. I'll keep you posted what I hear.

Thanks for the help guys.

I ordered mine from Alter Ego Comics, but they might just agree to sending back just the body piece instead of the whole deal.
I'm going to assemble the whole thing anyways, but I will be calling Alter Ego tomorrow. Hopefully something will be worked out.
Thanks!

My Horizontal light bar is fully bright across, vert bar fully lit top half, half lit bottom half.. I installed new Batteries too, tapped it, slapped it, no change, yet. Must be a loose contact point embedded inside the bar.. or something.

Doesn't bother me AT all, actually the bottom half of the vert bar looks dirty, or weathered. LOL. I kind of like it.

FYI, I just got a wait list conversion from Sideshow so if anyone on the wait list is looking for one of these you'll probably get converted.

Well, I just called Alter Ego and they said they won't accept sending back just the defective piece. Which means that I'd have to send the whole damn thing back and chance it on something else being defective on the second one.

But for all those wondering if you can disassemble the Loader to repack without breaking anything, you can and it's easy.
I assembled the whole thing, cables and all and the only trouble I had was with two cables pulling free of the plugs. Easy fix with just a little super glue.
It's best to disassemble the arms by first pushing out the peg holding the back pistons' top joint together near the shoulders, then holding the arm's shoulder joint with one hand and the cab in the other near the joint, with a good tug, pull the arms back out of the sockets. Then pull the pistons out of the lower sockets by pushing them down and to the outside, they should pop right off without any trouble, don't try and pull them straight off.
The legs came off easier then the arms, just grip around the hip joint on each leg with the other hand gripping the lower torso and pull out.
Ripley might be a bigger problem though, I still have yet to disassemble her.

I'd hate for the replacement to be another defective Power Loader. Wish I could just send the defective piece back. :banghead

Thank you for the info on how to disassemble this, it alway makes me nervous to take these things apart because they are so fragile. I really couldn't pull Ripley apart so let us know how that goes.

As for getting another defective Power Loader I would say the chances of that are slim. We have only heard of two cases in this entire thread so luck is on your side. :rock

Ya, I was surprised how easy to take apart the PL is, I actually took it down faster than putting it up. I got Ripley apart no sweat but for her arms, but the way HT's body is and the tray for her is, I just bent the forearms up to the upper arms and put everything else back in it's spot. I'm sorry they could just do your broken part screaming, I hope SSC can work that for me.

So you couldn't get Ripley's arms off either. That is comforting to hear. I tried to the point I thought the plastic was just going to snap. I wanted to get them off because I thought I had put them on the opposite way, meaning her right arm was on the left side. Upon closer inspection it appears that both arms are the same. I am not sure though, I just decided to leave it as is.

I would have fought more if I couldn't get her back in the box but since I could, I didn't want to risk damage, especially if Sideshow only needs me to ship back the broken piece, I wouldn't want to have to replace the Ripley body too.

Return it SM. You deserve better. Make sure your Dealer tests or instructs SSC to test any replacement for defects before they send back. I had Adam @ DSC check mine out before shipping it to avoid this kind of thing.

Paul's right screaming, you shouldn't settle at all considering the price of this thing. Defects on a $50 figure can be worth getting a replacement even, a piece that's $200 plus should be fully functional and in top shape.

The caterkiller is so freaking cool, every day this week when i got back from worki really cant believe i have this beauty in my collection.

I hope someone find a way to reduce the sound the light makes, it kind of annoying.

Do you mind me asking where you got yours from mate? Ive heard prices for this thing in the UK are ridiculous but shipping from Hong Kong or even the US must be very expensive too. Id love to get this thing in the new year.

I spoke directly to Mark and mentioned that they could just replace the piece that was defective and he said they can't open a whole new boxed Loader just to replace the one piece. So I doubt they could open the one they're replacing mine with just to test the functioning lights.
Strange because they'd have to send the whole boxed defective Loader back to Sideshow anyways, why not just switch out the broken center pieces with a boxed one they have there that works and send that one boxed Loader back instead? It'd save them a lot on shipping charges.

If they would replace just the center piece, I would've asked that they test it first before mailing it to me.
I'll have to wait for Mark to get back to me on this.
