Of course, but with that major difference that was shown in this thread to me? Come on. The Predator prototype was basically a work of art. The released product looked like something that came out of a kinderegg.

Well, I've been collecting since the McFarlane Movie Maniacs days so I'm not in the least bit surprised by the difference between a 2-up prototype and the finished product.

Also, I'd like to see some badass predators in my kinder eggs. Did you know that kinder eggs are illegal to sell in the US due to strict guidelines about mixing edible product with non-edible product?

Precisely. :lecture

Dracula; this is the crux here buddy.

Yupp.. Really liked that prototype of Shaw though..

I understand. I have never collected NECA so I'm a noob when it comes to these things that are just obvious to long time collectors like yourself. I was just very surprised of how it worked.. Everyone praising the prototype when they knew it was going to be an almost completely different product in the end. I was there thinking that was the final product!

Was just joking about the kindereggs... the NECA figures aren't that bad. No I did not know kinder eggs were illegal in the US! Are they more dangerous than guns?

Just joking. :lol I (now) know why they are illegal.

fyi, as far as the prometheus line is concerned, neca has maintained MUCH more consistent sculpts betweem 2ups and final product than what you saw above w the predator etc. Neca has improved quite a bit over the last several years.
My point...dont worry. IF shaw makes it to shelves (this is by no means a guarantee. series 2 has to sell well first), Her sculpt will be very similar to what you see on the 2up. The paint app wont be quite as good as whats on the 2up, but it will still be much better than what you saw in the predator example. I could be wrong, but im pretty sure the person who posted the pred comparison pics wants to present neca in the poorest light possible.
go do some googling. Go look at david8 and the deacon as 2ups. then go look at david8 and the deacon in 7" form....not that much difference; the released product looks fantastic! Shaw will be no different....watch and see (go buy david8 and the deacon so we can ensure shaw and fifield).

Anyway.. HT. :lecture :lol

It's EXTREMELY frustrating that specs for Shaw are still languishing in limbo.

****ing G.I. Shmoe Storm Shadow gets the Red Carpet - & yet Prometheus gets the back seat. :monkey4

I highly doubt Hot Toys will top NECA's Shaw sculpt. They seem to suck at accuracy when it comes to anything Alien/Predator related.

@ dracula (continued):
look man...why dont you stop listening to the HT fanboys and just go LOOK at the actual released figures and judge for yourself. There are tons of pictures available of the actual 7" Aliens figures (look at hicks, hudson, Alien) and the actual 7" prometheus figures (3 engineers, trilobite, david8, and the deacon). You go look at those figures...They are quite close to the 2ups (particularly the sculpts)...they look beautiful and guess what....they cost 16 bucks (USD).

Most of their likenesses are close to the mark.

I'm pretty confident she'll be awesome

Some of them.. lately.. has been pretty poor in my opinion.

A fair concern. HT don't always nail likenesses. Neither does NECA but their Shaw likeness is gonna be hard to beat.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. And that Hot Toys might abandon the Prometheus line because NECA is doing what seems to be a complete line from Prometheus. They might not want to lose sales to NECA on a franchise that is already not that popular. Hope I'm wrong when I say that, because I love Prometheus.

Anyway.. HT. :lecture :lol

:lol I actually thought I was in the NECA thread, sorry.

Oh crap, me too. :lol

Sorry, I'm pretty good at changing the discussion to something off topic. So many times I've been the cause of deleted posts.. :lol

:exactly::goodpost: F this G.I. Joe crap (no offense). I couldn't believe they decided to make those figures at first.. Then I saw its popularity.. Oh my.. :lol

The final product quality does vary for many reasons. Sometimes it's closer to the 2-up and sometimes a combination of factors makes a not so great finished product. So, you see the prototype and hope that the end result isn't far off.

Thats essentially what The Rider has been saying and everyone jumps on him. :lol

You're right. Let me fix my post to be more like him.

WELL HOT TOY NEED PAINT PRESSURE ARE TOO POOR LIKE OLD CAT WHEN THEY CANT GO FAR BECUS OF PACKAGE. TEHY LOOK LIKE CHIKEN FARM SUPRISE WHEN THEY GO HOME.
