lol. legendary! I WISH i worked for neca (obvious conclusion? you're not into empirical data are you?). Strangely, like others, i thought i was in the neca prometheus thread as well. apologies.
Im totally interested in the HT Dr. Shaw. They make great figures. I just happen to be really impressed with neca's work as of late. I get irritated w the HT fan boys ripping on a company just because they feel threatened by it. Frankly, though i prefer neca, i have no hardcore allegiance to either HT or neca. My allegiances are firmly planted with the properties (prometheus and Aliens). I love both of em.

I highly doubt Hot Toys will top NECA's Shaw sculpt. They seem to suck at accuracy when it comes to anything Alien/Predator related.

I think you'll find that folks have varied tastes here..

I really like NECA's stuff too - I personally though, have a fairly limited focus with what I'd buy from their lines collectively.

As mush as NECA is great at what it does and is pumping out some great figures/licenses these days this is still a high end collectors forum so there's always going to be debate when NECA enters the discussion.

I love NECA and the figures they release. I don't buy everything but I pick and choose as to what I want represented in my stored collection. I have been collecting 7" scale since McFarlane Movie Maniac Series 1 days (when living at parents) . Now that I am with wife, kids and a house I do not like the clutter of 7" figures displayed everywhere. So I buy NECA and store away in package. I like the feeling of owning (ex. Lost Preds, Rocky, Gremlins etc.) but I don't need them displayed everywhere. My display is in the HT's Business. One per shelf (no cluttering $200 figure together) in my five Detolf shelves.

NECA has actually been luring me back into collecting lower end figures as of late. The Evil Dead 2 series ended up being my favorite line of 2012. Period. I love their Nightmare on Elm Street, Gremlins, Robocop, and Terminator lines. I can't wait for the new Aliens figures to hit, especially if they make good on that promise of the Alien Queen. The cult classic movie character selections they offer certainly appeal to me much more than 95% of whatever recent Hollywood blockbuster Hot Toys is currently focusing on. Also, the prices for your standard Hot Toy are reaching lunacy. I don't feel like my wallet's been violated when I pick up a new NECA figure, and that helps allow me to have a little more fun to freely handle and fool around with them as well. Don't get me wrong, I love and own plenty of figures from both companies, but I was so sure I'd sworn off lower end figures when I "upgraded" to buying Hot Toys a few years ago. Through offering excellent and affordable figures from classic films, NECA has convinced me otherwise.

Yeah.. I don't want to sound precious, but it is a bummer when I see the Hot Toys thread bumped time after time, only to see more NECA talk, that's all. :lol

It's no biggie mate. :wink1:

You haven't heard the expression, 'Clayton's' before? It comes from an old Aussie / NZ ad campaign for a non alcoholic drink they were selling back in the 80s - the drink you're having when you're not having a drink. :lol

It's not used much these days.. but the meaning behind it refers to a 'replacement' of sorts.

ANY activity on this line? At least ONE figure on the horizon? Or has the license flatlined at HT to make room for the gazillion "Iron Man #" variants they'll be doing?

Would like to see a "Shaw" figure at least...

We've seen her backside in some backstage photos. Whether or not the figure actually goes into production is another thing.
