Yah thats not exactly what i meant, i was replying to someone who said it matters what the movie makes at the box office. So i pointed out that Sucker Punch and Predators did horrible at the box office, but they made figures and didnt cancel them because people wanted them. The Gentle Giant Sucker Punch statues did well, and people are liking the SP SSC statue, so as poorly as SP did, there are fans who want to collect them, and HTs wanted to make them.

Thats why i think a lot of the choices HTs makes is also based on them being fans of the films and its figures they want to make, not always based on the movie just being a blockbuster. I remember recently in an interview they said they didn't want to make Catwoman for Arkham game because they were not really a fan of the character.

But your right, none of us work there. They have a lot of reasons why they make & dont make stuff. People have been speculating for years and years. In the end it doesn't matter to me, i wont be heart broken if they don't make something. I'll live :lol

But for Prometheus they are pretty far along with a prototype. Its just probably finding the time to finish it when they have a lot of other films to do. Im confident Shaw will come out :)

you are forgetting that some movies that were not as big over here sometimes do really well overseas. Sometimes a movie might do better in other countries than the US.

I'm sure Hot Toys takes that into consideration as well. We know how things are liked over here but it might be a different thing over there.

yes, thats exactly what i mean. Prometheus actually did very well overseas. Sucker Punch i wouldnt be surprised if that was also more popular overseas as well. (I personally loved SP :))

Licensing is also a key factor as well. None of us know what they have to go through to get a license nor how much it costs them. But there are a lot of factors that go into each figure. I just don't think box office numbers mean that much in figure making. If a movie has characters that people want to collect, I think that has more of an effect on what gets made and also how big HTs is a fan of those characters themselves. From interviews I've read on them, it seems to be a key factor.

But so far we have seen a prototype in the works for Shaw, so its a good sign. :) It just might be a little while....

i want the jockey pilots chair. Thats one of the great iconic looks in sci-fi in the last 30 or so years. Lets get that before tentacle squid hugger kracken.

And this! Even though it will be gigantic in 1/6 scale.
It would be pretty big. But its not beyond Hot Toys ability. They are making 1:6 Batman vehicles and such and i think alot more Engineering is going in to them.

It would essentially just be a big plastic Shell. And it could be a " some assembly required " so it maybe comprises of 4/5 pieces you put together yourself so it can be packed neatly in a box to save on packing and shipping. And of course it would look like a beast with an Engineer sat in it.

That would be amazing. And they could make two versions. One from Alien and one from Prometheus where you could actually remove parts of the suit to reveal the engineer.

I actually think that'd be a huge seller. Would be difficult to find a place to display it though because of it's shape.

I think Hot Toys should tackle the Prometheus version given it can be interactive with the figure and such & then maybe Sideshow tackle the "Space Jockey". Id trust SS with a Space Jockey because if theres one thing they can paint its things of a bone'ish nature. But a polystone 1:6 SJ diorama would something really strong to take its weight

that would actually really be amazing. I can just imagine it now. wow.

I love your thinking fellas! But if something like that were to be done right, it would cost no less than $1000! :thud:

I really want Vickers. I'm buying Shaw just so I can get a chance to own a Vickers.
