Great shots! AWESOME! Although the engineer head needs a little work... :panic:

Also love the little baby proto-xeno-facehugger-monster.

Personally I think HTs are fans like us and make stuff they like just as much for fans.

Uh.. no. They're a business. They make products for money. :lol

amount of $$ a movie makes doesn't really matter.

Actually it does because that's how they decide if there's enough interest in a license to justify the financial risk associated with making products for it i.e. if a movie bombs, chances are there won't be enough people buying merchandise for it to turn a significant profit/a profit at all. Again, they're a business. They make products for money.

So if TDKR for example didn't earn big bucks then people magically wouldn't want the figures

yah Sucker Punch & Predators did horrible at the Box Office are two off the top of my head. Way way below what Prometheus did.

Then there is Avatar which took in loads of cash at the box office. It was a huge success and they only made 1 figure.

Its not always about the money....:wink1:

please. im so tired of hearing that. there is nothing inherently racist in the notion of previsitation. Hacks are present within any field of inquiry.

Virtually every major religion is, in a way, based on some form of previsitation (whether the entitiy or entities are termed God(s) or otherwise is irrelevant).

I definitely agree with you on this. Reading more of the book, i don't feel he's being racist. he's more questioning how things were built & discovered. Also got to remember this was written in 1968, there was not tons of research like there is today about aliens & UFOs. For example it really wasnt even until the 1970s that Roswell 1947 crash became a huge phenomenon. It was really kind of forgotten about for 30 years.

I think the things he's asking questions about are legit questions that need to be thought about and studied but they may have been since this was written.

One of his criticisms is that not enough research had been going on at the time in either archeology, religion, aliens/ufos. But was there a lot of research going on then? I dont know? I wasn't born then:lol

Batman merchandise sells regardless, but if a Batman movie did tank I guarantee HT (or any company for that matter) might take that as a sign that people weren't interested in merchandise of that particular version of the character.

You mean we are never gonna get a Clooney version?! :monkey2 :rotfl

Yes, it kind of IS about the money. For instance Sucker Punch may well have been a learning experience for them. They probably lost a lot of mney on that.

The Predator franchise is sort of like Alien, in that it has a set of intense fans in for the long haul. Most anything you make for it is going to sell; this is why we see so much collectible stuff for each franchise.

I dont really see a lot of clamoring for more Avatar stuff, so I dont know. Still dont see the film in question as being within a light-year of having the kind of fanbase enjoyed by the Predator and Alien films. However HT may disregard all monetary considerations and release some stuff for this film; I am not on their R&D board and so lack insight into what they might do.

Yah thats not exactly what i meant, i was replying to someone who said it matters what the movie makes at the box office. So i pointed out that Sucker Punch and Predators did horrible at the box office, but they made figures and didnt cancel them because people wanted them. The Gentle Giant Sucker Punch statues did well, and people are liking the SP SSC statue, so as poorly as SP did, there are fans who want to collect them, and HTs wanted to make them.

Thats why i think a lot of the choices HTs makes is also based on them being fans of the films and its figures they want to make, not always based on the movie just being a blockbuster. I remember recently in an interview they said they didn't want to make Catwoman for Arkham game because they were not really a fan of the character.

But your right, none of us work there. They have a lot of reasons why they make & dont make stuff. People have been speculating for years and years. In the end it doesn't matter to me, i wont be heart broken if they don't make something. I'll live :lol

But for Prometheus they are pretty far along with a prototype. Its just probably finding the time to finish it when they have a lot of other films to do. Im confident Shaw will come out :)

It is amazing how a small little toy company can make me start hating movies I enjoy by making you wait forever to reveal images of license that were aquired over a year plus ago….Amazing!!!

Everytime I watch Batman Returns (Damn you HT), I watch Prometheus (Damn you HT), I watch Sleepy Hollow (Damn you HT) ……
I have not seen Back to the Future in awhile but if I did……(Damn you HT)!!!
