Hmm, if you think that Fitfield (a man with a mowhawk, beard and facial tattoos) and Shaw (a woman without facial tattoos, a mowhawk or a beard) look alike, i think you may have to get your eyes checked.:lol:cuckoo::rotfl

Add to that the fact that the Enginner, Deacon, David & Shaw (which would make a great lineup) are all completely different in appearance and in fact DNA.:lol

Hey MechMan, these two characters are basically twins right?? :rotfl:rotfl

HAHAHAHAHA YOU CRACK ME UP MECHMAN!!:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Once the first images are released, this thread is going to explode with posts.

I would most definitely pick up David. No interest in anything else.

Just David please.

Why Shaw?! David first please.:lecture

just give me a damn Engineer and David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They must go David or Engineer first on this. Shaw's going to collect a small group and kill the line. As sexy as she is.

Worlds crying out for a god damn Fassbender figure.

For all the swings taken at MechMan the people ruining this thread are the douchebags quoted above.

You all need to grow up and deal with the fact that in a rare instance where a woman is the hero/protagonist of a fantasy film, just like all the other Alien films. I have never watched AvP, but a woman was the protagonist of the original Dark Horse comic.

Show some basic respect to the plot, filmmakers and actress or GTFO.

If you ever wonder what alienates women from geeky hobbies, when I know for a fact that a lot of women are interested, it is exactly the CONSTANT immaturity and sexism of the men we run into at cons, comic shops, message boards,....

How on earth is preferring Fassbender over Noomi sexist?

Fassbender's the "it" guy right now, no figures have been made of him, and on top of that..he plays an android for christ's sake. Of course people are going to favor him.

:exactly:

Unless Hot Toys decides to make a 1:1 scale and fully articulated replica of Charlize Theron.:monkey5

This is what's confusing me as well. Preferring one character over another is neither sexist, nor is it immature. :cuckoo:

And for the record, I would like a Dr. Shaw and a David figure.

It would be great to have both but the equation is simple:

Engineer & David first > Potential better sales = The possibility of Shaw :yess:

Shaw first > Potential low sales = No more figures :wave

I understand that bro. Still want both figures made and to me it really doesn't matter which is made first. Just as long as I get the figures I want is all I care about. :wink1:

SOLUTION TO EVERYONES PROBLEMS!
What if Hot Toys reveals the Shaw figure and the David figure at the SAME TIME? I know i want both and dont care too much who is first. Hey if the figure looks good, why not?

For all you defensiveness, you openly admit that Shaw, the film's protagonists, is almost certain to see lower sales. Care to float an explanation that does not involve sexism?

It is one thing to be pragmatic, but have the integrity to admit that prejudice (or perhaps male insecurity about identifying with a female character) is the reason that a lead character cannot lead a line without controversy.

Also for those who reject any notion of sexism, please further explain all the pervasive babbling about whether Rapace is "sexy" an the inexplicable preference of some for a secondary character like Vickers, who just happens to be played by an ex-supermodel (a great actress, but still by far the prettier of the two). Reducing a woman's worth to her attractiveness is the very core of male sexism towards women.

I would buy both versions of engineers myself! Chair suit really is a must.

Got no problem with them making the other characters tho, the space suit versions would make great detailed figures for sure.
