Super Freak
For all you defensiveness, you openly admit that Shaw, the film's protagonists, is almost certain to see lower sales. Care to float an explanation that does not involve sexism?
It is one thing to be pragmatic, but have the integrity to admit that prejudice (or perhaps male insecurity about identifying with a female character) is the reason that a lead character cannot lead a line without controversy.
Also for those who reject any notion of sexism, please further explain all the pervasive babbling about whether Rapace is "sexy" an the inexplicable preference of some for a secondary character like Vickers, who just happens to be played by an ex-supermodel (a great actress, but still by far the prettier of the two). Reducing a woman's worth to her attractiveness is the very core of male sexism towards women.
I have no argument to make really. I think Rapace did a good job in the lead role. It's just a case that to me personally, Fassbenders David was the standout performance from the film, and I'd say there is more of a demand for a figure of him (Fassbender in general...Magneto ).
Anyway, screw the human characters. An Engineer is an absolute must from this license. Even if he is the only figure made then fans will be content.
