Hot Toys Rogue One Vader MMS388

I've yet to own any SW 1/6, because I've been waiting for very specific versions. Bespin Han, Endor Chewie, ROTJ Luke, ESB Vader, Palpatine, and ROTS Obi-Wan.

This Vader will tide me over and I'll get Yoda as well. I had planned on getting TFA Rey but decided I'd save my money and get her figure when she's a full Jedi.

What difference is ESB Vader and the RO Vader? Not sure to hold off or get this.

All I've been waiting for is them to get to ROTJ. Palpatine is one of my most wanted figures.

Agreed! I can't wait to see how they handle his sculpt. But man they're taking their sweet time. Still no Palpatine or Jedi Luke. Not to mention ROTS Anakin and Obi-Wan. I love my SS Customs, but I would trade them in a heartbeat if I got quality releases from Hot Toys.

I'm not an super expert on Vader's armor like some on here, but it's most likely the helmet, the chest box, and robes being over or under the shoulder armor. But for most people (not the typical SSF poster), the only distinguishing factor is the robe being over or under, which can be changed easily. So if you're not really big on minute details or if you want something in the meantime, you can easily get away with using RO Vader as ESB Vader. And lucky for you, I think the RO Vader comes stock with robes under the armor because HT followed exactly what the film studio did after they goofed and messed it up.

As mentioned, I'm not a Vader armor pundit either, but off the top of my head, he wears his tunic over the shoulder armor in R1 (like he does in ANH) and in ESB the tunic is under the shoulder armor. The chest boxes are different in the sense that in R1 and ANH, it has a green light and a white switch while the boxes in ESB and RotJ have a blue light and a red switch. The green lights on the belt boxes are also a bit larger in ESB than they are in R1 and ANH. I also believe the mask is different. In ANH (didn't notice if he did in R1) he had that black tusk, whereas in ESB, I don't believe he did.

R1 chest box is essentially the same as ANH chest box, but the lights and switches (at least on the R1 figure) are a little more spaced out on the R1 chest box.

Rogue One Vader is my favourite. Personally I love the red lenses. Makes him look way better.

Nah, I think it's just a combination of the Hot Toys being better than the Sideshow and it seems that Hot Toys is either making less or sending less to Sideshow, as a lot of figures have gone on waitlist lately.

Thanks guys for the feed backs. I think I'll get the RO Vader. Doesn't seem too much of a difference to wait couple more years with my StormTroopers waiting for their commander.

Does the buckle not unclasp or something? ANH Vader figure's belt is pretty simple to take off and put on.

That's unfortunate, one of my first things was to swap the inner robe over the armour (maybe completely swap it for ANH robes if the pleats bug me) but either way I would have to redress him.
