I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but I noticed bbts has him in stock again for the very fair price of... $400! I guess they're getting into the secondary market game? Lots of stock though at that price. Not sure why that seems like a good deal to them considering you get Vader + tarkin for just a few bucks more but it's there for anyone who wants it.

They probably got a return or someone didn't pay up. Most likely just 1 or 2 and he's not back in stock.
If you look at their other sold out figures some of them are marked up like the RO Stormie and Shoretrooper.

A new force move as well. He sent that one blaster bolt right back to the rebel that shot at him. It happens right after he slices that rebel on the ceiling.

I wouldn't call that a new move. In ESB he deflected one of Han's blaster bolts in the dining hall back in Han's direction. The editing is fast and the scene doesn't really call attention to it (which I love) but after Han stops firing and the blaster flies out of his hand you see a black scorch mark on the wall next to Han and everyone with smoke coming out of it. Vader obviously didn't want to kill the prisoners he was going to use as live bait so he assumedly went wide with the deflected bolt.

One thing I love about watching RO and then going right into SW is how RO ends with Vader deflecting lasers left and right with his saber as he obliterates an entire Rebel squad and then in SW Luke's very first training exercise is...learning how to deflect lasers from a training remote. Seeing Luke struggle in the comfort of the Falcon after Vader's perfect maneuvers in the heat of battle REALLY sell the upcoming mismatch like never before.

"Good against the living, that's something else." Damn straight!

You're right on that, I thought he was just blocking/absorbing it as I haven't seen that scene in a while. Although, him actually deflecting straight back at the shooter is something new and actually really cool :lol It's also the first time he's deflected blaster bolts with his lightsaber as Vader, not including what he did as Anakin. And on top of that even deflecting multiple bolts back into the rebel fleet troopers. Cool additions to his arsenal. [emoji106]

Haven't gotten a chance to see RO and ANH back-to-back yet, but now that you mention it, that is a really neat contrast. I hadn't thought of that before. Shows the big difference in skill there between Vader and Luke indeed.

I think Edwards and the team did some real homework on this. Well all of it, so R1 fits perfects with ANH.

I think I even watched an interview where they mentioned keeping the moves of Vader consistent and nothing too over the top.

Destined to be one of the most epic scenes in SW history imo. If not already.

And pulls that blaster out of his hand using his hokey religion.

The single best scene of all the SW movies.

Vader doesn't deflect it back at Han - it's just a massive spray of jetting white sparks that scorches the dining room walls in a couple of places (and Vader's gloves as well.)

You'd think if it was intended that Vader actually deflected/bounced the laser blast, we would have seen Han's red laser blast come in as it does, but then also see the red laser blast bounce/deflect to the wall near Han - but we don't. We just see a few errant white sparks go a bit further than the others.

Yeah, he's definitely not trying to kill Han there as he's using them to test the carbonite and lure Luke. But when I said that he deflected the shot back at the shooter I was talking about RO actually. He purposely sends it back at the rebel in that one shot after the cutting the rebel that was forced to the ceiling.

Vader definitely deflects some of the bolts out of his palms in Cloud City. Sparks don't create smoking black scorch marks on the walls. There's absolutely no question.

The difference between that scene and RO is that in RO Vader obviously makes the extra effort to specifically direct one of the deflections directly into a Rebel Trooper.

Obviously that video doesn't quite show the entire sequence and is low quality but you can still clearly see the black scorch mark on the wall to the right of the heroes (Han's left.) In high definition that single scorch mark has smoke coming out of it on account of it being the result of a direct blaster hit.

A second blaster bolt hits the wall right next to Lando's head (and you even see the split second tell tale flash to the left of Vader as he is deflecting the shots.)

Here's the HD version...

Khev wins. I see the reflected bolt marks very clearly.
