It's always funny to read this. Nerds calling out other nerds for their degree/type of nerdiness.:rotfl

I mean if increasing screen accuracy doesn't separate a figure release today from one done several years ago, what does?

Even beyond getting proportions or details more correct, the progression of 1/6 is ALL about increasing realism/accuracy - better bodies for more naturalistic posing, improved paint apps and sculpting techniques to make the faces or masks more realistic, 1/6 cut/sew that hangs more like the 1:1 costume.

It's people like TooMuchGarlic and jkno that actually know the resources - the things you need to know to make each version of a character more accurate and improved over the last - better than Lucasfilm or Disney does.:clap

I just love the process of making a figure more accurate. It's so much fun for me.

And when I'm done I have something that doesn't look remotely like a toy anymore, it looks like a miniature replica. That feeling is incredibly rewarding.

Sideshow gets money for every HT figure sale on two continents (more?). I'm sure they are just fine with slowing down their production, being busy counting the money.

Edit: Apparently I'm too stupid to get gifs to work, but I trust the message got across anyway. :lol

I considered buying the new SS Vader just because I really wanted a Vader. I'm pretty glad I didn't settle, this looks awesome.
For the prices these figures go for, never settle. I considered the SS Darth Maul, but HT will probably make one eventually. It's worth the wait.

Well in the hierarchy, nerds tend to essentially be bullied by everyone else, so I suppose that just leaves the nerds to bully and fight each other as to the degree of the other's nerdiness. :lol

There will be a release every couple weeks from now until the last figure in the pic. Probably a few months until all figures are released in HK.
I see ok thanks for the information. I'm looking forward to Vader and the Jedha Patrol. But I'm disappointed some figures aren't in there like the Death Trooper Specialist, Shoretrooper, TFA Han, Resistance Rey etc. I guess those will come soon after then.

hey, hey now....that's super nerd. I'll only be happy when my 1/6 scale Vader walks and fights on his own.

I dunno - we are living in the "nerds rule" era. I think the teasing/bullying of nerds died out in the 80's. I blame "Revenge of the Nerds.":lol

But frankly, the R1 Vader figure looks really awesome, and the sculpted hands are a major bonus over that stupid construction they did with the ANH Vader. I guess they learned from their mistake as this looks good. Just can't get over the diaper cod the R1 Vader wears. It's INSANE. But HT captured it beautifully. Honestly, if I should choose between the ANH and R1 HT figure, I'd probably choose the R1.

I also blame "The Big Bang Theory" for having nerds be the focus of a successful mainstream TV show. :lol

While I would certainly say that about this upcoming Rogue One Vader, I would NOT even remotely tell someone that, concerning Darth Maul. The new one is pretty much the Darth Maul that fans have been wanting for years, sans the missing cloak. Which they're taking enough **** about that I wouldn't doubt what we see a rehash of Maul, a la the recent Vader release, featuring the cloak and the wrist accessory and maybe the binoculars.

There's not even a guarantee Hot Toys has an interest in pursuing Prequel Trilogy figures. So, saying it will be worth the wait for Maul is not the same as saying that for Vader, which I fully agree with. Not only that, the quality on Maul is miles above any previous Sideshow figures I've ever seen or owned.

I didn't like paying $250 for the deluxe Vader and I certainly wouldn't pay almost that for the recent rehash, but when it comes to Darth Maul... I was a little less worried about the price and more about the quality. And surprisingly, I wasn't disappointed this time. It's my absolute favorite figure in my entire collection now. I'm still keeping the old Maul though. Sadly, I can't keep Vader. That box man. That box.

You might PM them...just to let them know its you and not a polyp, hate for them to be too worried over nothing. :lol
