Where is the quality control on the trailer footage? And if you wanna go further, who the hell is filming this and not noticing the helmet sticking out like that? That's just unacceptable from Lucasfilm.

I work in the industry and I can tell you that trailers are usually outsource and not cut by the director of the movie.

Admittedly this doesn't excuse the poor choice of shots for Vader in this trailer but it might explain how this missed QC since it wasn't actually cut by Lucasfilm.

It was most likely cut by an editor who isn't much of a Star Wars fan and can't tell the glaring issue with the helmet.

Ended up giving in to Hot Toys Star Wars, got ANH Vader for $150. I figured it wouldn't hurt and I have no interest in any of the others (save for maybe Stormtrooper disguise Han, ESB Boba or Jedi Luke). I just got bored of not buying anything. This Rogue One Vader does look better though, I prefer the tunic and hands. Yeah, the mask isn't scuffed up like the ANH one, but I kind of like it all pristine and glossed up if the proto pics are anything to go by . . .
