That's what Sideshow did when it first started out with Star Wars. It was fun, and for $50 it was easy. It would be way too much now. And its not HTs style. They release things in bunches. We have a Han/Chewie bunch now. Next will likely be Luke/Leia or something like that.

Sideshow might be counting regular releases and exclusives as different figures... but just on unique 1/6 figures (not environments) it's more like 100... which is still damn impressive even if a giant number are clones

Of those I own or have on pre-order 45 or so... prettty much all of the OT figures (minus 2 of the sandtroopers) and 10 or so PT figures.

Yeah, I think I'll get rid of most of my main character OT figures.. I've customized mine, so hopefully I can get a bit more back, but if not that's life

ANH Han, Luke, custom Chewie and Leia will all get the boot. I'll keep Ben for now... HT can certainly release a figure of a better overall quality, but I don't think they'll be able to improve the sculpt unless the get Trevor to do it. Even with the slightly larger size and lack of skin texture it's still an incredible sculpt.

Next I think ESB Han will get the boot, I did upgrade the head and body on him... but it's only a matter of time on that one

After that I'll probably keep the rest... I don't think HT will release any Cantina Aliens or rank and file troops... at least not for a long while. So I think those kind of figures are safe. Lando might eventually get hit again, but he's a pretty solid release especially if you upgraded the body. Same with the Emperor... they could do it better, but really why bother

Is it in order of announcement or release?

BTW, I think ROTS Obi-Wan was actually #3 and Sith Anakin was after Darth Maul (SDCC special). Just in case you care.





Seeing that list, and relaizing just what I have... I see alot of figures going into storage. Mostly human figures -- PT and OT.

I feel in some ways like I'm back at the start -- only this time I have Luke, Han and Chewbacca... and now I need Old Ben and Leia to be complete.

It's in release order... more or less. At least from what i can remember.

For my part, i'm owning 95 pieces and only got to display all of them for a couple months now. I do not intend to get rid of the figures that will be updated by HT just yet. They will only take a back seat in the collection for the time being, eventually go to storage if display space becomes an issue and sold off in last resort if need be.

Yeah, that's why I didn't get the throne for Jabba. Just the slug. He's easier to place without there whole throne pedestal. He sits atop my three detolfs, taking up the back half of about two of them with some room for creatures.

There's a couple folks likely in the know that have mentioned we're getting a healthy dose of SW, some ESB, and a tad fewer ROTJ announced before the new trilogy. When 7 comes out, no doubt the focus will be there, probably with trickles of OT in between. It sounds like the PT will be all but ignored for a couple years.

They surely will put most of their firepower toward the medium into the limelight. What's worrying is that there will be a movie to focus on every year starting 2015. That means very few spots available for OT (or eventually PT) figures to get their share of love from HT.

I think the focus is Episode 7 and its connection to the OT. That's what Epsiode 7 is going to be -- a welcoming back of the OT. Years later, when Episode 8 comes, they may very likely start connecting that movie to the PT -- because by then people will be more forgiving of the PT, and honestly probably quite sick of the OT by then.

consider the "origin" and "one off" films that will take place every second year between the story line... sounds like many of them will focus on OT characters... another chance for Hot Toys to dive in.

I'd say I have 75-80 of the pieces on the SS list. Some have been customized. Most are in storage. I got tired of all the blinkin' clones and am certainly not looking forward to a repeat from HT (but won't be surprised to see it). Regardless of what Sideshow says they have got to be kicking themselves in their own ***** for not stepping up quality but at the end of the day they simply have not been able to match what HT does. They will probably get out of the producing 1:6 Star Wars altogether in a year or two, figuring it's better to make their money on the distribution. Or they may continue to do vehicles, creatures, droids and environments, which would be good since that's not really a HT thing. I wouldn't be surprised to see them instead focus their resources on the Marvel & DC 1:6 figures because they can own that market and sell at HT prices. They just need to reduce the bobbleheads and really focus on delivering high quality figures.
