I'm not going to jump to any final conclusions yet, but these pictures are not encouraging. I was on the fence with this one anyway so I am even more inclined now to wait for some in hand pictures. I agree with others who say it looks a bit photoshoped and perhaps that or just weird lighting is the problem. I know the Han sculpt was softer than the prototype too but the softness in the sculpt of Luke in these pictures looks kind of unnatural, like in places the texture is out of focus. The lack of angles compared to the prototype pictures also makes him look a bit too heavy in the face.

Again, we've all been mislead by pictures before thinking figures were either better or worse than they actually were, but in the very least it's not a good move by Hot Toys to put pictures out of a figure in a way that is not very flattering. When this happens some jump ship but many of us understandably just go into a wait and see mode. But that isn't what Hot Toys wants either. They want these pictures to lead to more pre-orders I am sure. My guess is though that this largely isn't going to be the case in response to these new pictures though.

I have half paid for this on flex not gonna cancel will see what it is like in hand but wouldnt of ordered based on latest photos looks ok but worse

I dunno....quickly looked at some various con pics.....looks the same. I'd suspect the proto pics were PS whereas the actual head sculpt appears to have been on display for awhile. Is the sculpt softer then proto pics sure but expected. I'm not seeing a huge difference for all the early drama. It's on par to earn my cash

Here's a couple of those con pics to settle the masses.

It certainly does seem like the same sculpt.

Under normal lighting at home I'm sure it's going to look perfect.

I suspect the proto head was an exceptional one-off casting expertly painted and crafted by an artist.

This mass-produced one is the same, just softer looking and mass-painted by labor.

Happens with every mass produced release of any figuure/statue ever. Pretty standard operating procedure.

I think this picture of Han looks ok but do something different with his hair its never been like that in new hope
A Bit more like this image.jpeg

That smiling sculpt has a creep factor of 8.

That blank stare again. Eyes should be slightly shifted, as long as they're going for that... whatever look.

Looks like he just came back from the dentist and has wads of cotton in his cheeks.

I'm not gonna worry to much as I have this one ordered and pretty much paid for with rewards so I'll be getting it no matter what. Hope to see more photos to confirm whether the helmet is useable or not.

I think the photo of Luke makes Han look like he does in fact have hair like that. Hard to say since he's all blurry but hope that's the case.

I think the smile perfectly fits Han's attitude during their "stay" in the Death Star... he was all the time complaining, with sarcasm, puns, etc. a scoundrel.

No I get why they did it. I just Dont like it. I Dont understand why no company can make a good ford sculpt. Hard face to make I guess?
