I like this post. Repped. :duff
Off-topic, but I've been listening to the **** out of Alice in Chains recently. I appreciate it more now than I did when I was a teenager. I probably put Dirt on 2-3 times a week in my office.

Hi Guys I'm loving this figure so much I need to get a Han Stormy now..
Lord, I hope the Han sculpt improves beyond what we see on Luke's box.

This figure looks great, I am fighting ordering it though. I do have the SS pilot Luke on pre-order and keeping my order as I do think it will look much better in hand. Even though I think early pics get overly criticized, it is disappointing seeing Dave is a puppet for SS. That's rediculous Dave and we expect more from you.

:yess: Okay, something needs to get canceled. Don't think I want to pick up the Spacetrooper, TFA Stemtrooper and Luketrooper all at once. Maybe TFA trooper will have to suffer. :dunno

3 figures in 3 weeks.
Man, do they even answer their emails anymore?
Tryring to get them all shipped together!

I say good for you :) I'm not getting Pilot Luke, but as long as you love it yourself then that is the most important thing. I've heard many people talk about certain figures saying that a certain mod is necessary, yet I leave all mine stock. The only thing that matters is if you love it.

Great album! My favorite Chains release. Still listen to that one. Junkhead is my jam!

Sweet. :duff Alice tends to get lost in the shuffle among Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and other acts of that time, but they more than hold their own.

Hot Toys - Star Wars Episode IV - 1/6th scale Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper ...

Hmmm I haven't gotten a notice for Luke yet. But I have Obi Wan coming soon, got a notice for spacetrooper, tfa squad leader and 1/4 boba fett. Think spacetrooper gets cut. I don't even think it looks that great.

But I'm most excited about this Luke and Obi of all the star wars hot toys.

The pics that were posted on that thread were in-hand, proper quality, actually quite professional. Not through glass or in-store. So why the censorship?

On that point, maybe Dave considered they were just as unrepresentative as 'through the glass' photos?

As we know, he closed the thread with the words,

Darklord Dave said:
I think we'll close this thread until we get some in hand pics from Sideshow shipping.

John Woo admitted himself that his photos made the sculpt look worse (as always) due to lighting:

John Woo i still love it despite all the negative comments. To be honest, the actual thing looks better than the pics. it's a bit (as always) off in the pics due to the LED light i used.

The only photos of the sculpt I found remotely flattering were those with the helmet on. They were the ones that approached natural lighting, with the helmet casting shadow. SS sculpts/paint can't withstand light the same way Hot Toys' sculpt/paint generally can.

Woo's pics were proper in hand pictures, not through glass. So I don't understand that train of thought.
And they were taken in a semi professional way. Neutral lighting with a blank background. Like the one you posted above.
You say that's the only flattering one you found... as they were all the same quality that suggests that the figure only looks good with the helmet on. Any photographer on here will tell you those pics are pretty good technically, Woo dissed his own pictures after the international outrage that erupted.

Anyway I would suggest you stop discussing it in here or Dave will close this one too and start giving out infractions.

:lol
