Im working on them now. I will probably shrink the head too because the face plates dont match up with the DX. Its also going to be a little bigger because the DX head is a little on the small side.

This is amazing news.

If you get it right that will totally make the QS unnecessary for me.

What do you plan to do about the eyes?

Not defective...

I would just tuck it up under there where it's supposed to be. I see no need to glue it. The part that is curling back out is never seen as it's always under the chest armor when correctly positioned.

I doubt it's even designed to be glued at all. They weren't on the DX12.

Excellent. :duff

Glad you like yours. I'm 90% sure I'm gonna sell it. I would need to fix the abdomen if I was going to keep it, and that would mean damaging the figure. No way I can look at the stomach now the way it is, knowing exactly how to make it better.

But the small head, wide shoulder thing makes me feel even more helpless. Nothing I can do to fix it. Absolutely nothing.

My pic makes it look decent because angling the body disguises this look:

If I was 90% sure I wanted to sell something! I would. After awhile the negative comments on stuff start to ruin it for others. If you aren't happy with it get rid of it. These figures are pricey for what we get but we are blessed to have access to the quality we have today. I've seen you be helpful with many posts but the big shoulder, small head points have been noted. No figure is perfect, I don't care what mods are done.

Really if you don't like it, it's not a big deal. I'm sure you would probably get offers for it tonight!

In the end it comes down to individual needs and tastes, Maglor cannot unsee the stuff that bothers him and I think this figure is much better out of the box than a modified DX12, in other words an obvious keep.

If the QS were $150 cheaper I might agree. But for the price there shouldn't be things I prefer about my modded DX12.

Sounds good.

Though, the thin magnets for the head might be a problem. I'm sure there's a place online that sells something small enough though.

I just need to make sure my mind isn't totally being clouded by sticker shock. I at least will be holding on to it long enough to make a video about cape installation and a few other things.

I don't mean to spoil the figure for anyone. It has a lot going for it. I just feel let down, and there is really no where else for me to vent about it. :peace

But the magnet is in the neck. All he needs are some strips of metal right?

Thank you, very quality response!
Here's hoping the figure grows on you!

Don't beat yourself up. $500 for a figure ain't no small thing. It's totally normal having sticker shock. I felt the same way about the '89 Batmobile and even the Enterbay T-800. Hang on to it for a bit and see where you're at in a few days/weeks or so. I'm actually surprised so many people are so gung-ho about it and haven't really commented on the price.

I know I was sort of getting an itchy trigger finger when in-hand pics and discussion started coming up, but then I took a good look at my collection and my TDK 1/6 figures in particular and decided to just let it go. The DX 12 and DX 02 are "good enough" for me for now, though, I'd love to actually have a decent cowled headsculpt with better mouths.

What's 'sticker shock'? Hesitancy about the price? You had that for the 89 Batmobile?

Originally when I was sitting on two at once after the scratches, yeah. That was $1400! My thoughts were like Maglor's, "for this amount of money, this should be perfect QC wise". The higher I spend, the more critical I'll be of what I get in hand.

Once I got it worked out, returned the other two and got a perfect one from the WB store for $610 though, I was cool. You won't be in the same predicament I bet considering the issue has been solved. I still remember when I thought $150-$180 was "too much" for 1/6. Now that we're in the $300-$500 territory, I find myself getting a lot more critical for this stuff. And why not? The quality and product should match the price.

I do regret the 1/4 T-800 though, and that was only $370.

I hope its been solved, I don't want to be opening someone else's ''return'' on Tuesday.

But yeah the prices are at levels that the Hasbro Star Wars/McFarlane buying me would be absolutely shocked at. This is why I'm narrowing my range of licenses and almost entirely sticking to childhood favorites. Casual 'oh that looks cool' purchases are out the window.

Yup, same here. I can't imagine what the 2008 me (the one that was considering Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker as an expensive, one off novelty item at $140) would think of the things that I now buy regularly at $250-$300, let alone a 1/6 Batmobile. :lol

But even then, everything has gotten worse as far as prices go, atleast here. Have you seen the prices for those retail figures we used to buy now? Hasbro Star Wars averages at $10-12 bucks for the standard 3 3/14. I remember when that was considered "premium" for the vintage figures, now that's the standard. And typical 6" figures that used to cost, what $7 ( the good old Toy Biz, LOTR days) to $9? Those suckers are $20-$25 a POP now.

Thanks for that DiFab.

Yeah, though even the low end stuff I'm not buying much of now. I still buy Original Trilogy Star Wars stuff if its a new character or a worthwhile redo but there's sweet F all out there now. I've only got one figure on order. With NECA I'm collecting whatever they put out for Alien and Aliens, probably Alien 3; I've got their ED-209 on order and it doesn't look like they're going to go extensively into that film, just gimmicky Robocop repaints that I've no interest in....that's it. They seem to be done with Terminator and are probably done with the first 2 Predator films. Not gonna buy AvP stuff and wouldn't touch Alien crapurrection stuff either. So I'm almost done with low-end.

I'm still spending a fortune with high end but as long as I stick to my parameters that too will slow dramatically, maybe within the coming year assuming HT don't suddenly go mad making more Terminator figures.

Reading the last page makes me fell better about the money I have spent on these figs in the last few months
Just dropped $400 yesterday for the eb bats, it hurts, im usually frugal with most all my purchases
