The original sculpt is not bad in any way because it was the same as the Original Suit Batman. As for that pic you posted, looks more like pigman to me.

See, I told you, the DK cowl can look very different depending on the angle and lighting.

Like someone here mentioned, this sculpt looks very similar to the party scene.

Lighting or not (which oddly enough is almost identical to the HT picture) it's what the cowl looks like and illustrates what should be sculpted and how. The shape isn't even right on the HT cowl.

I would say it is fairly accurate, if a little long.

Here's the party scene look since it's been mentioned, and which again to me really illustrates the shape being wrong.

To be fair, the pigman pic there doesn't look anything like the screencap either.

I don't see how the cowl is not accurate. The mouth area is shallow now, they added the small "bump" at the side of the nose, the eye socket area is deeper.

If anything, it's looking almost exactly like the Medicom DK which lots of people initially said has the most accurate looking cowl.

Basically, we need some more pics.

Preferably on the side, cape properly swept back over the shoulders, chest in, (if poss), neck angled forward and head slightly down tilt.

seems to me pretty clear there are multiple masks and costumes in use in different scenes in the movie. how can fat head batman be the same mask as this

Oh well, the promo pic and the screen cap look the same to me, just darker. I have no problem standing alone on this one. I did it with the first Joker head as well, but at least I've been vindicated there. I'm thinking it'll be a good while before they revisit this one again, but I'm sure they will.

Because one you're looking at the front, and the other you're looking at the side. I can still tell it's the same though.

I think its hilarious that everyone is trying to prove each other incorrect about this. No one can argue that there is still a lack of pictures to get a full feel for the figure, and everyone will ALWAYS have different opinions.

I for one see nothing better about the Hot Toys version compared to what I've seen of the Medicom one so far. That's just me. Not an attempt to get more people riled up, lol.

Also, I don't know about anyone else, but every figure I have gotten in hand so far has been worlds better than any picture I've seen of them (Except medicom jack bauer whose legs broke immediately upon removal from box, damnit), so I'm sure they're both going to be incredible.

I am beginning to see what your issue is with the sculpt. It's not really the accuracy of the sculpt. It's the choice of expression. The expression they picked for this sculpt is pretty neutral while bale in the movie rarely if ever uses a neutral expression.

I'm looking forward to the Hot Toys Dark Knight figures. I am glad DC Direct is importing these, which makes them much more affordable. Otherwise I wouldn't be getting any of them.
