I'm not a major fan of the movies, but this figure is too good to pass on. I just hope Sao Feng is a cool character in the movie--I really want the figure, but not if his character isn't really worth the purchase. If he's not really important I can save my money. I also hope they make more characters so that we can have a nice display!

It looks impressive, but I'm still seeing kit bash with my Medicom, something about the proportions of the hair, face/head, and hat just seems too Predatorish and not so human, which is where I think Medi's excels, even my NECA Jack, the hat looks out of scale to the head a bit. However, the quality of clothing and accessories on HT is just a grand slam. Much as I love my Medi Jack, there are film inaccurracies that bother me, like having only one belt, which is POTC 1 accurrate, not 2 & 3, but also, not having all of the trinkets on the belt, which Jack is all about trinkets. It may just be the pictures too, but his vest/shirt looks more black, when it's deffinately a dull blue shade, darker, but still clearly blue. The pants should also be a bit lighter and the boots a bit darker.

.... Yeah, I was... Just hated those damn plastic belts and the wrist joints.

The likeness really came out after the repaint though. I think this one will be no different. You are right though, the HT does have HUGE dreadlocks.

I'm guessing one of the guys that sculpted Predators did Jack and forgot he wasn't doing Preds. If you look at the actual Jack pic I posted, his hair is tight til about his ears and gradually poofs out the closer to shoulder length it gets, which is where Medi got it right. I'll agree with you on the Medi wrists, Jack was my first Medi besides Darth Vader whose wrists don't really articulate, and I was a lil turned off to Medi by that, they work ok for Wolverine the way he poses, but for sword fighting Jack, they don't work, which is why I wonder about swapping HT and Medi heads. I still think in the end, wrist joints or not, I'll just strip everything from HT Jack and put it on Medi, HT's paint apps on the face are better, but the overall head I still dig my Medi more, but everything else Medi can go

the proportions look akward on the HT jack.. the detail is better though.
I still like the medicom likeness more.

I think that the oddness of that picture is all due to the clothing not being put on the figure correctly. It's all about proper "futzing", and we all know from our experience with toy companies... that the figure never looks good in the shots from them.... only once you've weathered and futzed the clothing.

Give me that figure for one day and I'll show you properly fit and weathered clothing..

They both have VERY strong plusses, and those traits happen to be the VERY strong negatives on the other. Medi's head is better, which is the negative of HT, and HT's clothes and accessories are better, which is what's not so hot on Medi, which is why I feel, even with the figure scales being a bit off, I can merge the two together and have ultimate captain Jack, man I love this character, HT needs to release this now, or I need to just hang out with Johnny Depp in pirate Garb all of the time

Everything looks better on the HT version to me. No more jaundiced skin color, dainty procelain doll hands or cheap dollar store plastic belts.

I'm definitely replacing my Medi Jack with the HT.
