Was it difficult removing the Cheadle sculpt and putting in the Downey one? I've been contemplating that since I have a spare MK 6 helmet with Downey sculpt and an extra Cheadle MK II sculpt. Or I could just paint the extra MK 6 silver and cheat that way, lol....

No. It was relatively easy.
Hardest part was dremelling away the 191 sculpt.

I can imagine that was the hardest part. I build plastic model kits in my spare time and I know the pain of trimming down pieces to get them to fit correctly. I also just wanted to see if I had to pull the helmet apart or remove the lower jaw portion to remove the head sculpt. Thanks Barry!

The lid is in three parts(Not counting the faceplate).
Upper, rear lower, Jaw.
First, remove the jaw, then you need to gently prise the rear lower from the headsculpt, then gently prise the upper off the sculpt.
Use a pair of pliers to remove the magnets from the headsculpt and re-place them into the mask.
Then start cutting the face to fit.

Thank you, Barry! Much appreciated.

Hey Bar, would you mind taking a pic of your custom Stark in helmet sculpt next to the other Tony in helmet sculpts (Mark 2/Mark 3 BD/ Mark 6/Mark 7 BD)?

I think there's only one thing for sure.
If you look at the MKI and then the MKVI helmeted heads, there's no way Tony's head would fit in the MKVI helmet...
Funnily enough, most people say that the armour test spare helmet is the MKIV/VI lid.
But it's noticeably wider than the MKVI helmet in the image above(It's the one i used for the MKVII helmeted head).

That's what I find jarring with really all the Marks, aside from I. His head looks like it's being crushed in most of the flipped helmets and it also makes me think that his neck is impossibly long. Same reason I'll never display Iron Monger with the Stane HS. Your mind wants to figure out how his body fits in there and it just doesn't work. I find it easier to believe someone is in the armour if I don't see a HS.

Don't mean any of that to knock your mods and displays, btw. Enjoy seeing your stuff, just a personal preference of mine.

Has anyone ever tried to repaint the mark 2 into the mark 3?

Thats intriguiging. The Mark II AU figure is vastly superior to both Mark III figures, so that could be the best Mark III figure if the paint application ia done well.

Edit: I'm actually thinking about trying this...bit have never painted any plastic toys. What is the best paint to use?
