so i don't own any HT figures, but this one seems kind of decent and i might pick this one up for my collection. although it seems a lot of people are discouraged from the price and the pics. any reason(s) to get/not get this?

If you like this figure and you don't have any others than go for it. :D

The problem I have with this is that it's a repaint of a previously released Iron Man Mark IV (voted as the best IM figure released to date) with zero improvements or extras, yet has a high retail cost.

I don't see how HT can justify the $200 price tag on this, it's almost like they're banking on the fact that people will buy it just to have a complete collection from the IM line.

I think when you've supported HT as a customer and made a lot of purchases into a line and then HT tries to gauge your wallet on something that comes across as a lazy money grab, people don't appreciate it.

What are the odds of this IM actually selling out? any guesses? all the other exclusives are still up. Hell, even CR Superman Ex. is still up somehow :dunno

Thats the rub right there. The others are plus it seems like nothing sells out quickly anymore. Though, it seems in years past the HT SDCC Ex sell quickly. I would not be surprised if it sells out quickly or takes a couple weeks.

Another question:

Any idea on when these will ship after PO?

They have an 'attendee edition' so I assume they'll be ready for SDCC. (Seems logically to me, but wanted to make sure I wasn't oversimplifying things. :lol)

That's pretty much where I stand. I don't own any HTs at the moment, but just the hype around this one has lured me. I like the look and think it might be a nice stand-alone piece.

It will look nice on the shelf. The rest of the Iron Man figures so anyways.

they'll ship the week of CC.....I'm trying to figure out how much I paid for my Mark IV because I know it was nowhere near $215. I didn't even pay that for my Mark VI. And why does it cost $5 more for non attendees when you have to pay for shipping anyways. It's the exact same figure.

Actually, they ship stuff starting the 13th to NA I posted that above and they've always charged $5 more for NA items.

I know but what is their justification? Seems like they would charge $5 more for attendees since they have to lug them to San Diego charge 0 shipping and the non attendees pay for shipping...

Well, we have to pay CA tax and have to ship it back ourselves which in the end makes it cost more.
