Wow. After I saw it initially I said to my friend "Fan boys will hate this movie" and I guess I was right (for a change). See, this is what happens when studios take a chance at something different instead of giving us the same old formula to a superhero movie. I personally think it played out brilliantly and commend Shane Black and Marvel to have the nads to put this out in wake of The Avengers. I never like the character of Tony Stark more than in this movie.

Th only good thing I like about the flimsy armors is that hopefully it will blow up in hot toys greedy faces and no one buys them.

So for those who saw the film is there any of the armored suits that HT's is going to be doing from this movie worth actually buying or ordering? :dunno

There are so many versions they are producing

Be honest which armor is actually worth ordering?

From what I've been reading maybe the Tony Stark version is probably the way to go (sigh)

Based on what? Screen time?

All I'm gonna say is thank God I pre ordered the Avengers Mark VII!

Yeah, as a rule I always first and formost try to collect characters or outfits I see the most exposure when it comes to a film.

Why spend all the effort and money for something that's not worth it IMO:lecture

Well, I said personally I never heard of him before. I wonder how many general audience members were like me. I thought it was always made clear that, while Iron Man is a great, compelling comic book character, his villains pretty much suck and aren't very memorable. I remember around Iron Man 2 before Whiplash was revealed people said that the list of decent villains to include was short because they're so lack luster.

So Mandarin is Iron Man's Red Skull? His Joker? His Green Goblin? His Lex Luthor? I wouldn't know that. In fact, until 2012 or this year I didn't even know comic Mandarin had fans or even existed. Not to short change him, but he seems like some stereotypical 60s Asian villain with magical rings, Iron Man 3's seems more compelling.

Then again, I'm not a hardcore Iron Man fan (like I am with Batman or other things) so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me. Still, while Mandarin might be Iron Man's "Joker" or "Green Goblin", there's no way Mandarin is as well known or iconic as them. I think the character was ripe for change. Even before the film he appeared to be a a non-Asian, modern day terrorist. I don't see what the problem is. People were never going to get "comic" Mandarin.

well, the thing is, just because he is not as well known as the Joker or Green Goblin it doesn't mean he is not important. (at least to fans of Iron Man)

I think most people that know nothing of the comics will be fine, but I can see why people that at least know of him will be so pissed. :dunno

they did kind of ruin it.

Maybe 2 seconds...

Edit: Probably just one second actually...

:gah::gah::gah::gah::gah:slap

Seriously? :pfft:
Well..At least there's always the Avenger's blu ray.

What is HT's doing!!!

There's ASM, Catwoman, Batmobile 89, Coulson, Batman Returns, etc supposed to still be in the works!

Batman retired, how is that any different or better than the twist in IM3?

Bruce created a symbol of hope, Killian created a symbol of fear. :dunno

Bruce's Batman legend presents a feeling of hope regardless who is behind the cowl, right?

Then the image of Mandarin presents fear regardless who's under the "Mandarin" cloak.

Anyone can be Batman, right?

So anyone can be the Mandarin.

Manadarin's media manipulation of presenting terrorism is what matters just as what matters for Batman is for his symbol of good to be present to battle evil and give hope.

jesus the illogical comparisons. not even going to rebut this except to say you need to stop expressing your thoughts.

why are people complaining about how flimsy the armors were in the movie. if they were indestructible people would complain that the Extremis wasnt a big enough threat. this is also the only Iron Man movie that doesnt include another armored villain which people were complaining about in Iron Man 2.

Yeah. There is more Iron Man in Avengers than all the armors of IM3 combined

:slap That was a total of two in Avengers?

So does that mean now the Tony Stark figure with armor parts will sell out now?

If I wanted a RDJ figure I'd make my own.
