and I still say IM2 SUCKED and was the nadir of the IM films. I can't watch it again- it puts me to sleep. IM3 was far more entertaining and had far more interesting plot and character development of Stark in his "new" world

$170 million opening weekend- incredible. More RDJ IM films will come. Studios will start making only superhero movies from now on....

Golden Age!!!!

Which is fine by me: throw the dart enough against the board and you're bound to hit a bullseye :lol

Very good film - lots of fun! To those that *****ed and complained over this one: wow, just wow. You can't enjoy this movie, its time to hang it up and stop watching movies

I don't think it's sad, when I was a kid all I dreamed about was seeing more Star Wars and Superhero movies taken seriously instead of what was available.

My dreams have come true, some bad, some good, some great.

I want it to continue, many more variations of Marvel/DC stories and characters need to be made.

The more Star Wars didn't work out so well though. :lol

The two things I wanted to see -- Mandarin and action as Iron Man -- seem to be seriously lacking, so I'm gonna pass. I passed on IM2 when everyone was saying 'dude, make up your own mind' and I'm glad I did and passed.

Makes you wonder if the much trumpeted SW sequels don't become as big hits as everyone thinks they will be and the Marvel movies are far bigger cash cows......nahhh maybe not but Disney is sitting on a whole bunch of geese with golden eggs right now....:clap

I see IM2 as empty- hollow...IM3 had some real impassioned moments and a storyline that kept me very absorbed...despite the comedy and big twist which BOTH did not bother me that much at all...

I'm willing to bet the suits are in there as required by the studio. They just wrote to accommodate the need. Don't be silly -- they sell the license, the suits, not good storytelling. Ever seen good storytelling on a Big Mac or an Audi?

Well if that's true and there was a mandate, the writers made it work then.

I never sat there thinking, "oh, those are there to help sell toys". I did during the tv spots and all the Hot Toys hoopla, but when I saw the actual film? Nope. They gave them an interesting reason for existing and had a nice ending/payoff for what ultimately happens with them for Stark.

Oh and I liked what happened with Dummy. That felt appropriate.

I'm not sure why people are happy that Disney has all these licenses. I mean, is there a bigger "family friendly" mass-marketer around than Disney? They're never gonna give you the hard stuff. You know what you're gonna get with them, slowly they dumb everything down for kids, and eventually all things settle into rides for their theme parks.

People WILL turn on Disney before the decade is out.

Well, since you're not going to see it, Stark called a little kid a p u s s y in the movie, opposite of Disney not allowing hard stuff and dumping things down for kids. :lecture

Great touch with the dunce cap. :lol

Alfred or Bane should've worn one in TDKR.

The eventual Daredevil Reboot will be 50% comedy, just like we alway wante-- hang on. :cuckoo:

Man, stop calling him that. CALL HIM MANDARIN.

And the women he had were fine. That's one thing, Iron Man films don't disappoint with the wimminz. I liked that the reporter lady was back too. The one that gave Tony the "spread" for Vanity Fair.

My wife said she was there, I missed it :lol
