Whether you loved "the twist" or hated it......you have to agree that they did one heck of a job keeping it a secret all the way through the release of the movie. Simply amazing these days if you ask me.

One of my biggest pet peeves about movies these days is all of the trailers / clips / snippets / scenes that are released before the movie even comes out. I hate sitting in a movie thinking "ok I know what happens next because I've already seen it".

I'm just amazed that this wasn't leaked somehow. Bribery must have been involved.

I agree. Its a HUGE twist, and nobody saw it coming! So yeah, in this day and age that was what was so amazing. I don't think I've been more surprised in a movie before.

What, you don't like Robert gettin' Downey, Jyecat?

I'm split down the middle on this one which means I like it on Sun, Tues, Thurs and Sat. :lol

Do you remember when we were all trying to figure out why Mandarin had a Cap shield tattoo on his neck. :lol

All one big deception. :lol

I want to re-read this thread. But this movie was ****ing awesome. Pure Shane Blackness. Mandrain twist was hilarious. I don't think I disliked anything in this movie. Great flick.

The good:
RDJ

The not so good:
Villains seemed way overpowered
They burned hot enough to slice through armors like they were made of foil. If it had taken place closer to New York without almost 40 stock piled armors would that have been it?
And at 3000 degrees how did his pants and belt not flame on?

You need to suspend disbelief during these films but the film needs to make sense in the universe it creates for itself.

Pretty sure someone would have followed tracked the surviving copter

Enjoyed it but is the least believable and most cartoony of his four adventures.

Edit: and wtf is up with zero security on the patriot armor

Which is sad when a film series which has metal robotic suits, god aliens with giant hammers, frozen genetically modified super soldiers, radoactive human beings who can, when angered become giant green monsters....and ****ing ALIENS FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION, require you to have to suspend your disbelief.

Was that clip even in the movie? I swear half of the Mandarin's total time was from the trailers and the other half wasn't even in the film. I would think someone could might be able to make a case of false advertising with all of the deception they pulled with the Mandarin :lol

So, if the Mandarin was just a generic villain, everyone would scream "MEH! I EXPECTED SOMETHING MORE INTERESTING!"

But then you get something interesting and more unexpected and you guys are all like "WTF I WANTED GENERIC!"

:lol

Yes, the shield tattoo was briefly in the movie. And I was just telling my Wife tonight that although I loved the deception in the trailers, it's only a matter of time before some nitwit sues the movie companies for false advertising. :slap

What a great score to end on. Holy ****. This actually might break Spring Breakers as my favorite movie. The more I think about it, the more I unconditionally love it.
