Figured I'd get a response like yours. I read one or two of your "answers" before I bolted. Where do you draw the line at all the ridiculousness? Face it, guys like you are going to like the movie no matter what. :lol Sorry to stomp on your latest favorite all-time film. :wave

With an attitude like that, you sure make talking about movies fun.

Where do I draw the line? I don't. If there isn't a line to draw. If this film was a drama about two people in the midst of a romance, and then out of the blue a giant alien shows up and attacks humanity...I might draw the line right there. Because for a film grounded in pure reality, a thing like that isn't going to happen.

In a film series that has Aliens, gods, robots, monsters....nothing is going to make me go "OMG NO WAI." because....well....it's not set in our world... So who gives a ****?

You can say whatever you like. Doesn't bother me. But if you're going to be nitpicky about it, i'm going to call you out on it. If you're seriously sitting in that movie theater wondering where the pilots went off too after they bombed the **** out of Tony's house...then I feel sorry for you.

Even if you don't like the movie, a question like that is so unimportant that it just baffles me why anyone would even think that. It's so baffling, I have to write two short paragraphs about it. :lol

How do I know I was going to like the movie? I could've hated it. It's possible. It's not perfect. Because no film is. And there are problems. But one of them isn't about pilots, or fake pseudo-science.

just saw this today. probably the least exciting and least favorite of the 3. It's called iron man but there really was no iron man for 90% of the movie. Should have been titled "Stark and Rhodes".

I love you Celtic. :lol

Saw the movie yesterday and well you know the rest... It wasn't bad but wasn't good and such a disappointment with the Mandarin for sure... I think you all expressed how I feel. Not worth the Money to see in my opinion but again it wasn't bad I enjoyed it but than at the same time I didn't. I'll have to watch it again too see if I really dread it or if it's just how shocking the twist was. The lame *** twist. :gah::gah::gah:

Concerning the Mandarin twist ...(sounds like a cocktail)... I love it and hate it.

I think it works great for the movie.

Whatever, dude. That was so obviously meant to be funny. If you're gonna be set off over jokes now you might wanna take a breather from this thread. Besides... It's only a matter of time before the ironic gifs and memes start. :lol

we get it...you have issues with IM3.

well....let's see. you got to admit these superheroes aren't exactly the run of the mill people you meet at the grocery store. i think i would draw the line of ridiculousness through the entire marvel universe. these are fictional characters and in fiction, ANYTHING goes. i enjoy them for what they are.

probably this is the worse character ever!!! :lol:lol:lol

I'm not sure how they would've pulled this guy off short of making him some king of robotic design, but Fin Fang Foom was also ridiculous IMO.

I just have to ask this: What was it you were expecting from this summer superhero film?

Personally I feel these should be FUN and I think they accomplished that.

At least what I got from the many better Summer Superhero film. Good story, great characters, Awesome action, no eye rolling moments of Stupidity.

funny...complaint after complaint yet the box office is kicking *ss. some people need to realize that the movies AIN'T the comics. they need to WTFU

Hey all the Twilight movies do great at the box office also. I did not peg you as a Twilight fan.

Also, I don't have a single issue with this film not following the comics. All of my problems with it have to do with going off the rails of its own established movie conceits.

:lecture:lecture:lecture I don't read the Iron man comics. But I love movies. This was a bad movie all by itself.

This is what we all have been saying, but the supporters of this movie keep bringing in comic book crap as the reason we don't like it because they have no answer for why it deviated from its own established movie world.

Again I don't care about the over the top bad guys. If it was written well it would have been just fine. Hell I would not have even been bothered by the Mandarin twist. But they had to go way over the top. The could have made him just a regular actor not a bumbling idiot who was not funny at all. As just a plot devise this was a bad move. It also ruins future viewings. Now all the scenes that have the Mandarin in it mean nothing and are just time wasters. This would not matter as much if the other bad guys were better and more thought out. It might not matter as much if they did not make the Mandarin actor a guy who tells **** jokes.

Oh and this is just one of many problems the film had. But it Is one of the biggest in your face issues.

Yep.

I'm not offended, of course. It's just funny. Plenty of other examples too. I particularly liked the insinuation that eventually people will come around to their senses and dislike the movie. :rotfl

I am not saying that you will change your mind. But I remember how IM2 had great critic reviews and everyone was raving about it (two of my best friends included). I did not care for it. So I sort of feel vindicated when I start reading reviews for IM3 and everyone in those reviews is talking about how IM2 was a misstep and not all that good. My friends feel the same way. I am not saying that without question this will happen with IM3. But I bet by the time IM4 comes out people will be writing the same things about it as they were about IM2.

I could be wrong but judging by the quality of this film I doubt I will be.

If anything IM3 at least made me realize IM2 was not that bad. Still a misstep but it could have been much worse.

It's not perfect. Because no film is.

JAWS is Perfect!!!! :lecture:lecture

For everyone that complained that the Avengers aliens were generic and boring, all dying with the destruction of the mothership.

This was Marvel's response to that.

Mandarin was a complicated, far from generic almagation of 2 very different concepts twisted into a ten ring wearing, chinese origin character mixed with an afghani, pakastani terrorist organization who really was an alcoholic british actor being controlled by a wealthy scientist with a grudge who had created cellular manipulation and regeneration were the mitochondria create enough energy that the host body can actually shoot flames out of its mouth like a dragon, he even had dragon flame tattoos on his chest!

Freaking aliens from space only had laser guns, this dude could create lava!

There, take that you chitauri hating complainers. :lol

Marvel had to go out and create a huge front just for this to work.

Oh look, Cap tattoo, oh look we're filming in China, oh look Stark has a space suit to meet up with the GOTG.

Don't think for a second that it wasn't Marvel who released that on purpose to Latino Review to draw attention away from this secret.
