The main villain is the one who planned everything out. The one who created the plan and orchestrated it.

Don't forget BW gave his bat cave to a younger person and Stark built a lab replica of his cave for a younger person.

Yupp

And Stark presumed dead...

I did like the idea of using a terrorist face as propaganda. Good reflection of reality there. Iron men becoming drones was a cool idea and it makes sense, but something about it didn't sit well

How do we know Talia created the plan? She orchestrated her part of it. Bane orchestrated his part

Heck the only direct order Talia gives Bane he turns around and disobeys in 10 seconds flat. He was his own man

Bane had no say in anything. He was a henchman. Nothing more. The film was pretty damn clear about that. It was all about Talia's vengeance.

Film wasn't clear about that at all :lol

It was very clear that he wasn't a henchman. Like I said, didn't care for the only order we saw on film.

'Youll just have to imagine the fire' :lol

Where in the world did you get that Nolan intended Bane to be a henchman? He clearly didn't

I've read or seen very single comment he's we publicly made about the film :lol

The main villain usually is the mastermind of the whole operation so in TDKR that would be Talia. However, without bane to carry out the plan she wouldn't have gotten very far. It was bane who did everything and broke Batman's back and put him out of commission and allowed the plan to be carried out. We can't really say for sure if Talia could have executed her plan without bane. They needed each other so its almost as if they are co-villians (Talia as the brain and bane the brawn). Neither could have done it on their own.
