I just got back from seeing this.
I despise what they did to Mandarin.
What the hell were the Ten Rings gang in the first movie then? I guess they have nothing to do with the Mandarin.
Killian was an okay villain but piss poor "Mandarin" that was nothing special since he had a bunch of Extremis bad guys running around with the same exact powers. It's like giving all the Stormtroopers Darth Vader's powers, then what's so special about Darth Vader, that he's head Stormtrooper?
And all the IM armors were just overkill. Each one was more uninteresting then the last and quickly destroyed, they felt pointless.
And what happened to the space armor and War Machine 2?

I feel I need to see it again once I accept that this Mediocre Mandarin is all were going to get in these Iron Man films, and judge the rest of the movie ignoring the twist on the villain. I like the comedy and what Tony did in the film. The destruction of Tony's house was a great sequence, though I didn't feel the same about the big fight in the dockyard at the end.

At least this is a little better then Iron Man 2 which had way too many antagonists. The first Iron Man is still the best of the series.

I thought the actress that played the extremis soldier posing as homeland security Brandt (Stephanie Szostak) would've made an awesome Domino.

Apology, for what.

Apologize this:

Add in the movie's domestic haul, and it's now at $949 million worldwide. By Friday, it should be over $1 billion; even if it falls hard from here on out, it's still guaranteed to ultimately earn over $1.1 billion by the end of its run.

While Mandarin's videos were awesome (they are just as good as 89 Joker/TDK Joker videos) and one more (Stark's house) would've definately been welcomed, we're still talking about Trevor. :lol

Well deserved.

Why would you need to apologize for creating the best Marvel movie character ever? Pfffffft

I'd say his propoganda videos are better then mista J's in TDK. :monkey1

I'm hoping to see the "real" Mandarin in upcoming flicks.

It would be really great to see Ben Kingsley return as "True" Mandarin who would turn out to be who they made Trevor look like with the plastic surgery. I loved his performance pre and post "twist".

Or, have someone equally as well written be the controlling force over AIM and Trevor.

I'd take either.

Now that Coulson has returned to the land of the living (either via the asanine held his breath idea or the much better LMD/Vision idea), I wouldn't count Sir Ben down and out as the real Mandarin.

True story about fortuuune kewkies.

They look Chinese

They sound. . . Chinese

But they're actually an umericon invention.

I've been walking around the house saying that to my cat all morning. :lol

They didn't set it up at all in IM3 that a real Sir Ben Mandarin exists. It would be really lame if they brought him back as anything but Trevor.

You better write Marvel a letter before they decide to do it. :lol

Although I don't agree with you, they didn't leave it where he couldn't return as Mandarin either, lame or not if it happens. :dunno

Ben should come back in both roles. Mandarin can have Tony (who has developed an alloy allergy and doesn't wear a single suit in the entire movie) down for the count when suddenly the "Toast of Croydon" sweeps in to save him in a specialized Trevor suit of armor and Trevor would drop kick a full can of beer through the Mandarin's head saving the day.
