I figured I would start a new thread to keep the Iron Man movie thread just about the movie/news and this one to focus on the action figures/toys, etc. unless the Mods choose to combine them.

So.....

My Iron Man movie figures!

The 12"er kinds sucks articulation wise but looks good in that one pose.

The rest of the figures rock even if they are mostly just repaints and look good displayed with each other.

If there are requests, I will put some individual pictures up as well.

Got most of them at various Targets over the last few days except for the Stealth Operations armor (aka War Machine, which doesn't make sense to call it a stealth suit when it is heavily armed) which is a Walmart exclusive and I also found the hard to find Mark's I, II and Iron Monger at a Kmart.

The Silver Centurion (has some other stupid name) armor is a Target exclusive.

Mark I

Articulation is pretty much hampered by the sculpt of the armor. It has a spring loaded flamethrower in the box on the bottom of the left arm that you insert the "flame" and pull back on and release to shoot. Pretty detailed sculpt with the motor on the back and hydraulic hoses on the back of the left leg that could use painted or have a little darker paint wash (does have a rust colored wash applied though) to bring out the details better.

Mark II

Once again a great sculpt that is the base for most of the other IM figures except for the mark III prototype. Good articulation except for the raised pieces on the back of the hands which hinder any good repulsor blast poses (all figures have this issue). The black paint wash is pretty good except for a few areas but not bad for a mass market action figure. Of course, in the movie trailers this armor looks super shiney and this figure looks like it has been battle worn.

Mark III Prototype

This is the Tony Stark to Iron Man figure. It comes with switchable forearms, removable chest plate, helmet and chest light. While it loses out on some articulation, it looks more like an actual person in an armor suit. The other figures actually look a little thin to have a person in the armor. The paint is nicely done with a high gloss sheen to it.

Mark III

This version doesn't have any removable parts so he looks scrawnier but has better articulation than the Prototype version. I did have to look at a couple to find one that had a perfect paint job.

A comparison shot with the Mark III on the left and the Prototype on the right.

Iron Monger

Bigger and bulkier than the Iron Man figures, he has a good sculpt but suffers from poor leg articulation due to a action feature. His right leg looks ball jointed but doesn't have any movement because when you squeeze his legs together, it has a punching action. Could also use a paint wash to bring out the details in the sculpt better.

Silver Centurion

Target exclusive figure, has a different name but it is basically a movieized version of the Silver Centurion armor. Straight up repaint of the Mark III with Silver used in the place of the Gold.

War Machine

Walmart exclusive figure called Stealth Operations Suit on the package (which as I said earlier makes no sense). It has detachable arm cannons and the missile rack and gatling gun swivel up and down, no side to side motion unfortunately. and they both have spring loaded attacks.

very nice haul, Natrix. I have all of them except the Target exclusive repaint, I'm not sure if I want it or not (too many of the same IM figures). My favorite is split between the MKII and War Machine.

I'm very disappointed in the 12" Repulsor Iron Man, his articulation blows chunks. I hope they release another 12" version with the same artic as the 6" figures. Oh well, at least the paint job is nice and shiny.

no s*** this is the only decent pose I could get him in. Every other pose looks stiff and stupid.

Where did you get that stand that you have War Machine on?

That is one thing I wish all the figures came with so you could display them in some flying poses.

The stand I used is from a Bandai DragonBall Z toy (Hybrid action figure, I think). Sometimes I also use the stands included with Medicom figures because it's a good fit around Iron Man's waist.

Yeah I wish they would have included proper display stands with the IM figures. Also, I really wanted an extra set of exchangeable fists for Iron Man, although I know Hasbro doesn't usually do that sort of thing.

My current IM and Iron Monger pose, Monger's about to get a repulsor blast in the face! haha:

Iron Monger really needs better paint apps.

I found all of these between 1 Target and 1 Walmart. Bought them all but haven't opened any of them. Not sure if I'll keep them or not...I just didn't want to pass on them and end up wanting them!

You should at least open one, Jase. If you gotta have one, it has to be the MarkIII or Mark II Iron Man. Those two are the real winners in this line.

Dang...I want to get one of the Mark III Iron Mans......thanks for the quick review and photos. I really hope maybe Medicom will end up doing a 12'' movie Iron Man figure!!!!
