I thought this was proposed last time and failed. Is there anything new on the table that would change the outcome this time? I personally don't care if its legal or not. Definitely no worse than alcohol imo. It would cut crime and hopefully pay some of the states bills if taxed as high as it should.

I have no idea why pot isn't legal by now. Alcohol does far worse damage to the body than weed does. At the end of the day, I want something to take the edge off, and I don't like that I'm limited to alcohol, which is way more toxic than a little THC to help you relax.

I choose not to drink or do any form of recreational drug, but I don't care if it's legalized or not. Legalization of marijuana wouldn't change the way I live my life in any way, so whatever happens is cool by me. Just don't smoke and drive and you're fine by me.

The thing about smoking/drinking and driving is...

If you drink, you're not okay to drive until you usually sleep it off the next day.

If you smoke, you're usually fine to drive in an hour or two, after it's worn off, and provided you don't feel like taking a nap afterwards.

I honestly think people that have never done it think it's on par with the effects of a narcotic, which it absolutely is NOT. I blame the government for stupidly including marijuana within the "War on Drugs" for the reason some people thinking smoking a joint is the same as, say, taking LSD.

I have no problem with it being legal either - as long as the "no smoking" laws apply to it as well. (I swear someone lit up a joint in the theatre when I went to see "The Runaways".)

And it could be a brand new source of revenue for the state which we sorely need.

That was the only way the movie could be watchable for the person. I know I'd have to have a gun to my head.

...California is also trying to take the toy out of Happy Meals...no joke.
Unexceptable! :lecture

The irony of drug prohibition is that it hasn't stopped people from doing drugs. All it has done is empowered gangs, and gang related violence, nevermind all of the lives it has destroyed with prosecution for non-violent offenders. People have received life sentences for drug violations; most murderers don't get life.

Didn't you hear?

It's part of the new universal Health Care Reform. Sure we're on a path to socialism, but it's "free" government subsidized POT for all, so rather than fight it, I guess I'll just get stoned so I can ignore what going on around me while America loses it's identity as a "FREE" people who are allowed to make decision for themselves and their families.

Okay, I feel better, I'm done now.

And then there's that.

Not sure if it's worth the price. It's not like I've ever been busted, and I'd really rather not pay taxes on it.

I quit smoking because that's all my friends do...and someone of them abuse the drug too much.

However, i'd be nice if it was legal. Although nothing would change for me.
