Damn... I used to partake every day.. all day for many a moon... and now that I don't smoke anymore they want to legalize it?? :banghead

I doubt I'd smoke again even if it was legal though.

i think it was chris rock who said...

"pot is only a problem if you cant afford it"

besides, there's always the "cake" for non smokers like me.:monkey3

well driving high is just as bad as drinking and driving.ill admit l toke mabey 2 times a month with friends, never buy the stuff tho,but l was at my friend place in the country about an hour from my town.and l got high with him before l left.big mistake l had bad cordination and and blurry vision and it was snowing lots also, a white out on the road, and almost went into the ditch with my moms SUV a couple times.were if l was sober, there would of been know problems.so that would be the biggest problem

Maybe you should stop smoking. :lecture

I can't stand Cocaine....it's the ANTI Drug..

I remember once... having many a beers and Smoking some good Green.. I then did a line and what happens??

I was back to sober..:banghead:banghead:banghead

what a waste of $$.... :monkey4

lolll..yes, lol..thats what it does...:banana

I'm all for legalizing it as long as all construction/medical/government jobs/trucking do random testing for it.

That's the problem... you can't test for it's use the same way.. you could smoke three days ago and test positive. they need to find a way to test how high you are at the moment .

But what I think Shropty is saying that people in those professions shouldn't be allowed to use Marijuana....I agree.

Exactly. I sure don't need the last words before I go under for surgery to be "Dude, I got sooooo high last night".:monkey4

as long as it was last night it'd be ok. He wouldnt be hung over from it like he would be had he gotten hammered. :lol

as long as my hard earned tax dollars are used to support broke ass ******* too lazy and stupid to get jobs, i say no way to legalizing this.

pot makes people lazy and complacent, and people are already way too lazy and complacent to begin with.

the intellectual lazy argument is that pot smokers are smoking anyway, might as well tax it. the truth is: legalize pot and the government basically becomes an endorser of its use. you open the flood gates to allow all the people that were previously not doing it because a)the taboo or social stigma b)the fear of legal punishment c)their employers ban it.

I firmly believe the amount of people on welfare and jobless benefits would sky rocket if pot was legalized for rec use. You'd see many a more child die from parental neglect. You'd see more deadly car wrecks. You'd see more home burglaries. You'd see more accidental pregnancy and thus more abortions. You'd see more retarded babies.

to quiote Bill Hicks "youre out in public. You see 2 people stumbling around. being loud and obnoxious and starting fights with people they dont know .... are they stoned? or drunk?"

..... if the wellness of THE PEOPLE is the center of the debate. It would end in both pot & alcohol both being illegal... :monkey1

the difference between pot and alcohol is that 1 is already legal.

prohibiting what someone already holds as their "right" is a lot more risky a proposition (politically, socially, and logistically) than continuing a ban on something.

I can't agree with the argument of "you allow drinking might as well allow pot". Are we prepared to DOUBLE all the sideeffects we currently experience with alcohol?

And anyone that thinks taxing it will solve all the economic problems are fooling themselves. Do you think alcohol sales tax really accounts for that much?

not at all. LSD was legal for years.

Whether its legal now changes absolutely nothing about its negative effects on a person and whether or not it should be deemed legal / illegal in the best interest of the consumer
