Did anyone else think it was Daken? Is he x-24?
I agree with you here. Really good, nice coda for Jackman, but not even the best of the x movies to my eyes.Still, I do think people are overrating the movie a bit because of the gore and ballsy ending. It's nowhere near as good as TDK, and as of right now it's not even in my top 3 FoX-Men movies. I think X2, DOFP, and FC are better movies but I can see it possibly edging out FC with another watch. I however, love the ending and how Mangold decided to retire the character.
Yeah but the mutant holocaust happens off screen, which I'm fine with because I hate exposition, and evil Wolvie is literally the same thing evil you always is, which is mute evil mirror antagonist with opposite colors that only goes forward and doesn't go back and it's always an allegory for the [insert character defect] within.
Maybe I'll change my mind come second viewing, if it seems I'm being nitpicky I probably am, I'm not knocking this movie by any means, these are just very specific criticisms of my own, and not necessarily of flaws of the movie, but things that I think could be a little better.
I still would love if CBMs were like this movie in a lot of ways, and not, well, MCU.
I don't remember having this few criticisms for a CBM in a while, good movie.
Wait are you saying this universe is in the DOFP original timeline where the sentinel holocaust happens and all the world goes to **** including humans, or did I misread? Because the world in this movie is perfectly functional and non-postapocalyptic, there just arent many mutants left.
I thought this world was just a "what if" with some random stuff referenced.
Or DOFP "fixed" timeline?
This movie takes place 5 years after the happy DOFP ending.
This Wolverine though is the one from Origins, X1, X2, X3 and The Wolverine. He has the memories of that Logan.
I don't think anyone really knows the answer, even the people who worked on the movie whether this is part of the timeline or a one-off but based on some comments made by Logan in the movie and comments made by Kinberg and Mangold, as of now it seems this movie takes place 5 years after Logan waking up in the X mansion with all the X-Men alive.
Oh ok, for a second I thought you meant the original DOFP timeline. This movie takes place 5 years after the happy DOFP ending.

moment the way Newt did with "Mommy."
It's the full package for me. You could make similar arguments that random, recent critically acclaimed movie (Moonlight for example) did everything really, really well. But it's still never going to be comparable to Chinatown or Citizen Kane. And Dark Knight isn't those movies, but it is relatively in the comic movie context.I don't get what places TDK so out of reach that even Logan is unworthy of being near its presence. [emoji38]
What, the interrogation scene, the dramatic Gordon speech at the end, what is it that makes it untouchable?
Because Logan had 3, count them, 3 interrogation quality scenes! [emoji38]
What, the acting?
Sure Joker is now a legendary part of cinematic history so lets just admit that he carried that entire movie because it certainly wasn't the action.
Logan's acting was just as good anyways.
Logan surpasses TDK for me because at least the violence was present to back up its drama.
TDK had that silly boat bomb test. [emoji38]
You just have to roll with the silly timeline issues. I don't for a second think that this movie logically follows dofp.Yea it's pretty ridiculous [emoji38]

Totally in line with the comics. This is why mcu taking over would be all kinds of wrong.Kinda sad how the Xmen never had a happy ending. They always all died in some crazy and now they all got killed by Charles. Imo I think this should be the last xmen movie. Continue on with the deadpoole series if you want but this feels like the fitting end. Anything else xmen that comes out not may just crap on this movie's good name. Don't want another apocalypse.
