I can't wait to see close-ups of Nazi pilots as we listen to machine gun fire before cutting to hundreds of French troops lying quietly on the ground like Matt Modine in TDKR. :slap

Modine TDKR lol

I would love for someone to go back to those great classic war movies and insert cgi battle gore. :lol

Have John Wayne shoot someone then cut to Rambo 4 style gore!

Why is it a shame to follow a film with a superior film?

Glad you dug it, man. I like parts of it. Mainly Magneto's isolated storyline before he meets Apocalypse and I loved Wolverine's cameo. Aside from that I just didn't enjoy much. Left the theater giving it an 8/10 but after watching it on Blu-ray that went down to 7/10.

I don't think its a bad film, just a mediocre one that should have been at the level of DOFP. At least Kinberg's been honest about how they just didn't have the money they needed to make it work and how they retooled the script to fit what the studio gave them.

I still say that movie could match up with nearly any other x movie with some minor changes and edits. They shoved too much in, Psylocke was poorly cast and utilized, Angel was criminally misused, Magnetos redemption was out of place, and there was a bit of a jarring tonal shift. But I do like it better than Logan. Brings me closer to the comics I loved as a kid.

Apocalypse having a mental and physical battle at the same time was great.

My biggest gripe with Apocalypse is ironically Apocalypse.

What should have been an 8ft tall [CG] Monster that scared you with his mere presence ended up a 5'6" guy in paint who I never once found menacing.

My biggest gripe is the absurdity of Magneto doing what he did and somehow not being considered Osama Bin Laden times 10 at the end of the film - the news even gives him credit for ending the carnage as I recall. Imagine if Osama had 4 other planes and decided to call them off - oh well done Osama, thanks for that.

Now I like that Magneto has just been redeemable enough in the previous films that Charles cannot give up on him. But after Apocalypse there should be no more friendly chats, there should be no amount of compensatory acts to make up for the destruction and death he undoubtedly caused. And I hate that. I hate that they wrote Magneto as having such a huge role to play in the carnage in the first place. Apocalypse should have been his own agent in all that destruction.

I hate that aspect of Apocalypse so much that I would stryke (sorry) the whole film from canon were it up to me.
