I'm a DC fanboy and I thought BVS was boring, it lacked action, and Superman was a depressing mute who lived in a Metropolis that looked just as dark as Gotham...zero contrast. But hey, that's my opinion.

Wolverine can be dark and depressing...nothing new really. Still, I'm not sure seeing a vulnerable, old Logan with diminished powers and skills is the ideal Wolverine I'd like to see, but it could be good....even if the action isn't, since it'll be him slashing people with no fancy choreography, according to the spoilers.

With his healing abilities waning I can't help but think, though it's an interesting idea in theory, it now means he's going to get his ass kicked even more than usual in this film.

Eh I dunno, he's looking his age the last few years. Although he was extremely lucky to be frozen in his early 40s for 25 years.

Yeah, time is catching up on him now but certainly for a heck of a long time he looked exactly the same.

*Admittedly not an expert on comic Wolverine.
Being someone who was a kind of expert on Wolverine, through 1990 or so anyway, profanity really isn't a core trait of the guy exactly. But, it does speak to an edginess and working classiness that was a part of his charm. Being sometimes very violent and unpredictable are more important. And you don't need an R rating for that, really.

Wolverine, like The Punisher, is a character that merits a heavy-R portrayal.

His primary skill is to kill people. He's the best at killing.

Jackman's been fighting for an 'R' rating since 2006.

Hopefully they adapt Old Man Logan into something that's better than the actual story

Well that's what Wolvie says (sort of), but if you actually read his comics back in the day, not many of them would have really necessitated an R rated film IMO. The darkest and most violent that come to mind through the '70s and '80s were probably Days of Future Past, his run-in with the Hellfire Club in the basement, his limited series, the Mutant Massacre, Weapon X, and the cross-over with Havok. None of that would need to be more "X-TREME" than, say, Dark Knight or Temple of Doom. It's not like they need to turn into Hostel starring Wolverine to have him killing folks here and there when necessary.

After I wrote that I remembered they DID cheer when I saw FC and Wolverine dropped the bomb.

I don't think it was so much the word that caused the audience response during that scene, more the attitude with which it was delivered.

You should read the late issues of the second volume and first 20 issues of the third volume, along with ORIGIN.

Greg Rucka & Daniel Way ground the **** outta him and let him wander the earth. Wolverine truly achieves his full potential when he's on his own. He's a very complex and tormented character. The women in his life have all been taken from him, his memories are bull**** and his legacy as a superhero is that he is the epitome of the antihero.

Start with issue #181 and just keep reading.

My point exactly. Critics who bashed BvS hated it for not following the Marvel Studios formula.

90% of critics (bloggers) are MCU fanboys.

To be fair though bvs was boring and way to dark. Superman isn't supposed to be some somber hero, he's supposed to be light hearted and cheesy. The "boyscout". Then they killed him off in his second movie. It was just a mess. People expected way more from a movie that should of been made years ago.

Hopefully, Sups will get some sort of emotional amnesia and a different personality as a result of "dying."

This was just posted.

that look.

so serious.

"i pooped my pants" look.

I'm gonna need a trailer and some official looks at Wolvie to get me hyped here. Those set pics are just him driving a limo and pushing Xavier around in a wheelchair.

Driving a limo is what he does best.

The funny part is that he really hasn't been tormented enough in his movies to be living this life of seclusion and sadness.

They're writing him as the loner when he really has no reason to be one.

He really should this happy and successfull guy running his own global security firm or at the very least working Good Morning America.

I'm more curious that these are the images we're seeing rather than some cgi villain or sweaty, shirtless Jackman.

Well, it depends on what's canon and what Wolverine remembers or what he went through. Hard to tell, since DOFP may have changed some things, but I do think there's enough for him to be tormented.

You speak to me as if comprehend the timeline from this series, it really makes no ****ing sense to me lol.

I guess yeah he's tormented, his character was made into a joke in Deadpool and not in the right way and Fox won't let him be in an Avengers movie. Or am I thinking about Jackman's torment?

He's killed a whole lot of people in wars and personally...couple of dead girlfriends...tortured a bunch...probably seen Brian Singer's junk...

Come to think of it, it must be annoying to be changing Chuck's diapers when Wolverine is actually way older than him.

But I guess it Depends.

Well that settles that, I was wrong...my man is seriously tormented lol.
