What I don't get is why after 120+ years of not aging, now he looks old and he can't heal anymore? Xavier can't be that much older than he was in DOFP if he's still alive. He's still a normal human when it comes to aging.

He's killed a whole lot of people in wars and personally...couple of dead girlfriends...tortured a bunch...

Didn't they somehow steal his mutant abilities for a minute in The Wolverine? If that's possible I guess he could get mutant osteporosis or whatever.

Re: Xavier, I'm with Jye. Ain't nobody got time to track this continuity.

To paraphrase Eddie Izzard -

Ra's = Execitive Immortal
Wolverine = ****in' Weirdo Immortal

Wolverine is a homeless dude who smells like cigars and circus tents. Ra's looks like Vegeta found Lando Calrisian's closet. It's just not a fair comparison.

Ain't nobody got time to track this continuity.

Its not that complicated. Like the Star Trek series, there are two timelines.

Timeline A

-X-Men: First Class (2011)
-X-Men Origins (2009)
-X-Men (2000)
-X2: X-Men United (2003)
-X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
-The Wolverine (2013)
-The future sequences of Days of Future Past (2014)

Timeline B

-X-Men: First Class (2011)
-The events of X-Men Origins (2009) up until 1973
-Days of Future Past (2014) sans the initial future sequences
-X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
-Deadpool (2016)
-Legion (2017)

It makes sense for LOGAN to take place in Timeline B, given that Timeline A is done. Days of Future Past ends with Wolverine back at the mansion in 2016. If LOGAN indeed takes place in 2024, a lot has happened in the last eight years.

That is helpful, thanks. :duff

Fixed.
Both FC and DoFP were made to erase "Origins" from existence.
Future sequences of DoFP contradicts the original films.
"Origins" contradicts the original films.

So Logan remembers what then? His cameo in First Class, the events of The Wolverine, the bad future from DOFP, his time travel to 1973 until he drowns and everything after he wakes up in the new future at the end of DOFP?

And nothing from X1 X2,X3 and Origins.

No, X-Men Origins is canon, there are shots from it in DOFP during Wolverine's vision of the past and Wolverine's mob girlfriend in '73 calls him "Jimmy". And no, FC & DOFP were not made to erase it. That's wishful thinking on the part of fanboys (who also wanted X3 erased).

The decision to soft reboot came from an idea that FOX had to do a spinoff about a young Magneto (to be penned and directed by David Goyer) and another movie about Scott, Jean and Storm as teens. The OC's Josh Schwartz was writing it and Tim Pocock - the kid who played Cyclops in X-Men Origins was set to star in it.

When X-Men Origins was received negatively by fans and critics and failed to make gangbusters at the box office, FOX brought Singer back - who basically combined those two planned spinoffs into one movie (First Class) and followed the Abrams Star Trek '09 formula to soft reboot the franchise with it.

DOFP was made as a response to The Avengers. Before The Avengers grossed $1 Billion at the BO, Vaughn was still set to helm a sequel to First Class that would take place during the JFK assassination. FOX dumped that in favor of a more ambitious storyline that would serve as their version of a crossover by bringing together both casts, which was DOFP.

Also, DoFP future sequences took place in 2023.
And this film is set in 2024.
Which makes DoFP's happy ending completely pointless.

You're wrong, my friend. But I don't wanna debate this topic, it's too messy and stupid anyway.
FOX had a great fresh start with FC but ****ed it all up with DoFP.

DOFP's future sequences take place in 2016. When Wolverine wakes up in the "happy ending" he has a futuristic calendar at his bedside that says "2016".

It makes no sense for him to travel 50 years into the past and wake up only 43 years into the future. Most likely just another editing mistake.
