I couldnt care less about either fighter but Pac has accomplished a lot more in his career than Mayweather. He already has a loss so even if he were to lose people would just say lets see a rematch. Mayweather is the one with everything to lose. His only accomplishment is his record. He's known for dodging opponents so if he were to lose he'd lose his one thing and all you'd hear about is he'd have more losses if he'd have fought better competition more often. Hopefully it'll happen just so boxing in general can move on to the next best thing. This has been hanging over the sport for far to long.

I personally dont buy into the dodging stories and fighting better competition???? Like who ?

He has never been beat and never been floored in his professional career which is quite outstanding in over 40 fights :dunno

I really dont think anyone other than pacquiao would get near mayweather!

If it doesnt happen, Id like to see Cotto fight either of them.

Pac already flattened Cotto.

He did but Cotto didn't stick to the game plan and rocked him a few times early on.
Cotto also looked pretty good against margarito...

Actually that was a great performance from Pacquiao but Cotto played into his hands.

Yea but they are now arguing over the 50 50 split. Mayweather wants more money as he feels Manny will earn more from facing Mayweather than all his fights.
Mayweather is a great boxer but he can really be a ____ sometimes.

I do get the feeling this might actually be signed up in the next week or so tho!

This fight will never happen. Both fighters are too _____ to just do their job and FIGHT without all the bs

That's debatable.

The biggest difference between their careers IMO is, Mayweather has been a consensus Top 5 P4P fighter since 1998 i.e. since at least then he's been in the ongoing discussion of who the best fighter in the world is. Pacquiao, his name wasn't mentioned until at least 2003-2006. So Mayweather has been "on top" in some form or fashion for the majority of his career (after like 2 years as a pro) while Pacquiao just started being mentioned after over 8-11 years as a pro. Mayweather also won his first World Title after only 2 years as a pro while it took Pacquiao almost 4 years. So you can see the difference in how long each guy has been on top.

Well, that's just too bad.
The sport really needs May and Pac in the ring, but sorry to say...even if it does happen in the future, it's already too late. These two have seen their prime come and go. Really too bad.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto - May 5th

DONE DEAL!!

NO PACQUIAO

To be fair, a fight this big would need more time to promote so it was probably a bit to soon anyway. hopefully it will happen around November time.

Looking forward to Mayweather Cotto tho. Could be interesting.

Doubt that. Pac has difficulties with counter punchers (see Marquez fight). Mayweather is the best counter puncher in the game.

He's just a very very clever boxer. Great counter and sets traps for his opponents. That and the combination of speed makes him very difficult to beat.

The problem is id like them to fight why the speed is still there but time is not on they're side.
