I can't put my finger on it, but there seems to be something wrong with his face, almost like hes a caraciture (sp?) of Vader. Maybe its the eyes?

Care to elaborate?
Sure.. :)

Folks have touched on it already, but the helmet for starters. The proportions of the dome & face don't look right.

The figure's physique & general body proportions don't have the commanding stature that a high end 1/6 analogue of Vader should.

I also don't like the material they've used for the body suit, & the way the armour & accessory pieces sit on the figure. Neither SSC - or Medi, have done his cape proper justice yet either. The whole package just looks.. cutesy. :lol

The folks that have modded the SSC Vader by, swapping everything over to a muscular body, bringing it's height down, & replacing the SSC dome with the Hasbro one (go figure).. are definitely on the right track towards making a Vader figure that looks.. right. :)

I'm just not interested in buying any of them, till the thing looks like Prowse in the costume - & I'm quite prepared to happily wait till that happens - no matter WHO makes it. :lol

I think this figure would've been a bigger deal if it wasn't the 3rd Vader release by Medi. With the exception of a few variances or upgrades between Ver. 1, 2 and the ROTS versions, they're not that much different.

I still have Version 1, and if I'd not been able to swap suits after the original suit crumbled, then maybe I'd be interested in this one.
The light up Saber from 2.0 is the biggest 'improvement' or draw to this figure for me...but I don't like the look of the gloves. As separate pieces you might get a bit more articulation but it looks odd (to me).

Also, for those worrying about the new suit flaking, I would just make sure you leave it on the stock Medi body. I think for those that try to beef him up with a new body or padding will cause stress to the suit that will (in turn) cause it to start flaking.

I've been a long time Medi fan and I think if you don't have a Vader, any version of them will look wonderful if scale doesn't bother you. Medi could have really impressed us even more if they had introduced a body that was more fitting to the character, re-tailored the suit to fit that body and scaled it up a bit. That, rather than keeping the R&D and new Sculpt/Mold costs down would especially justify the new retail $.

Good Body Language:

You've futzed yours very nicely there McHaley - looks awesome!

Btw - for the record, I personally don't hate Medicom. :lol

I think they do some really nice work - their ROTJ Boba, Jango (although I have a few issues with them too), ROTS Anakin, & the new ROTJ Solo are all solid pieces.

In short though, Medicom's not really a company I want anything from.

I've had both medi vaders and loved em both. Got rid of the ep3 one, cause i don't do prequels anymore. And the ep6 body broke on me. The only thing stopping me from getting it is the suit rot problem. (which i never had a problem with)Everything about this look awesome to me especially the Shaw sculpt. I kinda want to wait for SSC but i'm almost sure i'll have a problem with that as well. (which i got rid of cause it looked like a big kids doll on my shelf)

I will probably end up getting this and just waiting for the HT one someday.

Got the pose a little tighter on this one (plus you can see my reflection in the dome!). Interesting that there's been more activity today in the SideShow ESB/RotJ Vader thread than there has been in this this thread, even with pics....

GREAT!

Congrats... I hope mine arrives soon.

It has some nice things going for it but the cape looks just as bad as Sideshows attempt and it still looks rather thin/scrawny for a Vader.

I would like to see some pics with some other 1/6th figures to see if this looks better than the previous attempts by Medicom (which I do have).

Those split gauntlets are a step back visually. The figure looks to me like a teenager wearing an awesome Vader costume, pretty much like the previous iterations from Medicom. The lack of thread-love for this figure compared with the SS Vader thread is unsurprising given it's more of the same vs. anticipation of something different.

I dunno the more and more is see of this the more i happen to like it. I am just scared about the suit. I probably shouldn't be, as it seem to be hit or miss as some have problems and some have none.

Love the saber!

Does this figure (2.0) has the same problem of the 1st realese ?
I remember seeing somewhere that the inner clothes of the 1st version get some damage with time.
Can anyone clarify that.
Thanks.

No one can really tell as it only happens over a period of years.(some get the problem, some don't) Looks like the same type of material though.
