Out of interest, how are people seeing the Raiden/Gray Fox image?

I spent a while on the countdown site and never got it.

You could be right. The ninja suit in that teaser pic looks different than Raiden's in MGS4 and Raiden's eyes were blue. The eyes on the character in that magazine scan don't look blue.

But the lightning/thunder in the teaser countdown website does allude to "Raiden" though. hmmm...

Well, Gray Fox never had a Ninja suit in the original Metal Gear (and Metal Gear 2) - in fact, he appeared just like a normal human.

I believe that it's Raiden in that picture. Just look at his mouth and ear piece, and the upper portions of his body suit - it looks EXACTLY like him. As for his eye color being brown, that could have just been coloring problem while the picture in the magazine was being scanned.

Plus, I've been at the Kojipro site for several hours, and haven't seen that picture - not once. Until I see that picture for myself, and hear something conclusive from Kojima, he will remain as Raiden.

Well if this is a remake of MG, they could have decided to update GF's armor to make him look more cyborgish than human. But yeah whoever is in that pic looks exactly like Raiden.

It's been confirmed, from what's written in the article, that it IS NOT Big Boss but another clone.
And, sorry but IT IS Raiden

There's the "Mercenaires Sans Frontières" inscription on his beret which means "Mercenaries Without Boundaries"

Yeah until it comes from Kojima I'm not buying any rumored translations.

Maybe those two people aren't even in the same game. Perhaps there are two games being teased here. That "Big Boss" person may have the PS3 game, and maybe that "Raiden" will have the PSP game, recapping how Raiden found Sunny, since Portable Ops 2 has been hinted at for a while.

I do see that being Gray Fox, it's clearly Raiden...but sans an eye. makes no sense to have BB still alive and younger and have Raiden shown from what I'm seeing a time after MGS4.

It would be an awesome game...but would I have that over the chance to play as Solid Snake or his dad? Nope!

Kotaku is predicting that it's an expansion for MGS4.

Makes sense seeing as how MGS4 came out last year. It's unlikely a new games would be done already.
