Decided to give MGS1 a play last night, it's been quite sometime since I've done that/ I'm right up to the Psycho Mantis fight. The nostalgia factor is through the roof, I can't believe it's been almost 20 years since it came out. Kojima still has not made a gaming atmosphere that has come close to it again.

Does it have to do with the upcoming awesome custom? :lol

Anyhoo, you should try out Ghots Babel, it's pretty similar to MGS1, with a great story, kickass soundtrack and pretty deep gameplay.

I've beaten that, I just don't own it anymore. And yeah, it has to do with the custom :lol I found that SOCOM BTW, I think it will work.

That's some corporate bull****. Konami is firing hundreds of their workers and going into gambling? That's just hilarious.

Do you think it sounds credible? I know George doesn't fabricate stories and what that "insider" told him seems to fall in line with what's been happening the past few weeks.

It does seem strange that Konami doesn't seem to care about damage control and PR, which might further prove that gambling theory. Plus if all is well, they would have had an update on Silent Hills long ago, not just say "yup, cancelled."

In any case, if this is true, it's pretty F'ed-up in probably the worst way imaginable. Kojima should get legal aid as soon as TPP launches.

Yeah, and he said it was rumors that are currently circulating with Konami's employees, so there's probably some credibility to it.

I'm just wondering if Kojima had to sign a new contract with Konami, since he was demoted to a temporary employee. Maybe there was a non-disclosure agreement, that prevents him from suing, and restricts his social media access. His recent silence on Twitter was especially strange. I've noticed that he's now just retweeting things, instead of actually communicating.

That NDA is almost 100% certain, and given that a company would first and foremost protect it's interest and Kojima is desperate to save his game more than anything else, they MUST include a clause to prevent Kojima from taking legal action in the future. I must have spoken too soon about Kojima suing, he has no way to do that as an external contractor hired under Konami's terms.

However, causing unpleasant working conditions sounds like abuse to me, and it's disheartening to know these employees have no power to fight back. Now Konami's going from taboo (MGS) to straight up vice. Pathetic.

After all of this nonsense is over, Kojima should get a visa and move over to the States :lol. I haven't heard this level of abuse going on with the gaming companies over here.

Man I was optimistic that some fresh faces working on MGS would be good for the series but if Georges source is accurate then this isn't going to be good. Kojima will ultimately be fine. He will have no issues finding employment and will likely take all he is able to with him from Kojima Pro but MGS and Silent Hill are totally screwed.

It could honestly end up a lot worse. I bet it's annualized in the sense that a MGS game hits every year. Maybe not direct sequels but different games from a handful of studios.

That somehow worked with the first three Resident Evils, but it was a fluke. MGS shouldn't come out any sooner than every two years. But yearly? It's going to be just rushed garbage. No matter how I feel about the later part of the series, none of the games felt rushed, or incomplete.
