I think there's a fair amount of blame to go around on both sides. But, I just wish if a former employee opened their mouth to spill the beans on what actually happened. I mean, PlayStation was confident enough in Kojima to hire him for an exclusive, so that's saying something...

I hate Konami, but never once I considered it was their fault on how spectacularly bad MGSV was. Instead of spending money on the internet TV show praising His name, Lord Koj should have spent time on making a better game.

Also, if Konami "interfered" with Kojima's genius, how come the game went south so quickly and became a repetitive grind fest with no story? Didn't Kojima said he had the grand plan of the game panned out in 2010?

I think they hired him in name only, and wanted to capture his thunder since he's so revered. His new IP is do or die for him.

The game is divided 50/50 among fans, and when it comes to MGS...something is obviously wrong here. I've hated on PW plenty, but I've stated numerous times that the game has plenty going for it too. It felt very solid and complete, and above all, quality.

Btw, I was wondering- was it ever explained how the Skulls could pull out weapons out of thin air, jump and teleport like Nightcrawler and why were they're wearing such skimpy outfits? I could swear it was some MGS2 S3 Plan mind-F but it turned out to be real, which I thought makes no sense at all.

The term for the weapons and objects that appear out of thin air is "hammerspace", first popularized by Looney Tunes :lol. It made absolutely no sense for why The Skulls could do that. The Skulls themselves looked like The Borg from Star Trek TNG. They were definitely the most unoriginal bosses to grace this franchise, in my opinion.

Kinda old video, but this guy is right on the money aside from the constant F bombs :lol

Just like you said Solidus, he's the only auteur in gaming.
I can completely agree with this guy. **** MGS V, **** this fanbase, **** the fanboys and **** YOU!....maybe not that last one :monkey3

Still pathetic how fanboys ignore all this - it's horrible timing with Konami going the way they are.

No matter our opinions on it, it's already cemented in the world's mind that Konami is solely at fault and Kojima is a good boy who didn't do nuffin!

One aspect I hated about MGSV. Soo much isn't explained, at least technogu wise.

Where pervious games we'd get loads of optional cut scenes explaining the world, MGSV had hours of boring dialogue about the parasites. I've never been more bored in MGS than I was listening to those tapes. I hate the old guy

Everything in MGS1, 2 and 3 were explainable in one way or another. They feel grounded in a "hyper reality" kind of way if you will. MGS2 in particular, gets away with anything since the game was dipping in and out of reality, but at the end of the day, they're games and you're supposed to have fun with the medium.

MGSV on the other hand, was so serious in tone that it makes the unexplained crap glaringly stick out. How exactly did Volgin come back to life? How come Psycho Mantis was so powerful, yet he never raised beyond an average-ranked FOXHOUND? Why did the Patriots let him do what he wants all his life whist they had to control Solid Snake at everything he does? Too many questions, barely any reasonable answers.

So you guys know, I liked that video on my Facebook and a friend (who's probably gonna unfriend me due to this and other friends) is trying to lecture me on saying Kojima is innocent and Konami is in general a bad company. He said 'do some research and don't join the blind Kojima hate bandwagon'

:lol :lol :lol

Amazing he tells you "do the research" without just having the herd mentality and thinking for himself. It's the same rhetoric all over social media.
