Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

That's probably it, Hayter is like your highschool sweetheart lol, I imagine it must be odd to you listening to a different voice.

I thought I would have a hard time coping with that too, but Keifer's voice just fit right into my ears.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

:exactly: :goodpost:

Even if most of it's "jokes" don't even make me laugh, if still find the whole atmosphere of the franchise so pleasant.

Also, I didn't like so much the fact that PW's bosses were all machines, it didn't give me enough motivation to fight them, not as much as other MGS bosses.

I know exactly what you mean. In MGS4, specifically thinking of the end where Johnny and Meryl were in the shootout, I was like this is so corny...but with a smile.

It's those silly moments that I can't help but still enjoy, maybe because of the nostalgia and the fact that I genuinely love this series, good, bad and ugly. Hell, there isn't a franchise out there that doesn't suffer from bad times. I mean if they can make Nick Fury black, then anything is possible.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Lol yeah, I was looking at that whole sequence smiling while frowning at the same time lol.

I think the only time I actually laughed in MGS4 was when the rebel caught Johnny ****ing in the barrel.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Then thank god I never followed 24, maybe that's why it's not bothering me.

Although I did watch a couple episodes and from what I can remember, his voice here is different enough.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I don't know about you guys but I like the new environments. Since it's more open world than previous MGS games, I've sure there will be traditional compounds to sneak around as well.

shouldn't the konami presentation be starting soon?

I don't think they have one, except for the pre-recorded video from last week:

I absolutely loved the gameplay bits, and nothing but sneaking gameplay in the trailer, can't wait.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

:exactly:This. I watched 24 for years and hearing his voice in the trailer just yanks me out of the MGS world. His voice is just too damn recognisable as being Sutherland.

Even without me seeing 24, I'm still irked by his voice. I can't take his acting seriously in it. He can't fill David's shoes, it's impossible.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

A longer cut of the E3 trailer will be shown tomorrow!

And a couple new promo pics:

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The scarring is very cliche. But the butterfly staple scarring is original.

I don't think I'm ever going to get a taste for Sutherland's voice.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Will probably see a Hot Toys of this before we ever see anything else.

Yeah I was thinking that as well. It makes sense, and I'd welcome it, but it's a shame it takes a current release game to come out for a figure to be made by HT, when there are classic versions which would sell great. Can't tell me they don't realize (at the very least) MGS3 fatigues Snake wouldn't be a hot seller.

You're right, they only shovel out something if it's still current. And if they back petal with a franchise, it takes years it seems.

Ada Wong is just coming out and it should of been almost 10 years ago.

MAYBE will see a BDU version this year. But if we don't see it this year, I doubt they will even do it.

If they even did it, I have a feeling it will be the DPM and not the Tiger Stripe to coincide with the 3DS renders.
