don't know what to think, Visually it looked great, but i can't help but miss hayter. It felt weird hearing Kaz's voice and not hearing hayter after. Im sure i'll get use to keifer even if i dislike him.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Man it didnt take them long to pump out another Tomb Raider

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

As much as i enjoy open world games...MGS was great as it was. I hope they don't cut down the cutscenes. It seems they are trying to get a wider audience with this Adaption and i know a lot of people who dislike the long cut scenes.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's funny how they are aiming for a more "subdued performance" when it sounds just like like a poor mans' David Hayter to me.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I do actually... prefer this voice for snake in this instance. Because of the trailer, not just hearing the voice but he seems to have given up. Hayter had a very powerful voice, this is very much like a weak Hayter voice. Calling himself a demon and all that. "Punished Snake" is the new Old Snake.

I found it interesting when they were going through names to the character montage near the end it said " Snake Returns! " and we get Big Boss clutching the kid from the cage we saw months ago. And then not long after we see another clip of him clutching the kid and the song title "sons of fathers" or whatever its called popped up too. That seemed to fuel my suspicion. not to mention the punk kid with the slicked back blonde hair looked very young liquid..

The whole Red Dead redemption clone of it is making me not want to play it at all. Hated RDR and i dont wanna have to play the game again just to further the Metal Gear story

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Looking good. Finally a "real" trailer. Liking the new Big Boss look a lot, glad to see a return to tiger stripes. I think Sutherland makes a good Snake.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Watcher the trailer. Visually is very impressive as well of the gameplay, but it's far from being a MGS game. It's more of a Mercenaries game.

Not impressed with Kiefer's voice.

WTF did they do to Ocelot's face?

I don't care at all for the cheese *** characters.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I Always find these MGS trailers somewhat cheesy, with the choices of music, and the text that they display through the trailers, using mumbo jumbo phrases to try to convey how "cool" the game is.
Or silly things that suddenly pop up like: SNAKE IS BACK!!

lol
I dunno.

:exactly::goodpost::lecture

It all started when Volgin grabbed Raikov's crotch.

The gameplay looks stunning I admit, but it feels so far removed from what even made MGS what it was. I understand change and change can be good. Time will tell.

ALL MGS games have cheesy characters and moments. Even MGS1.

But yeah, no rogues gallery has matched FOXHOUND in MGS1.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

But is MGS1 really cheesy? I think the characters were new and inventive. I think everything tried to top that Fox-hound unit so eventually the games are riddled with cheese.

The B&B unit was very cheesy, might be the worst.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

With Japanese-written video game narratives and characters, an amount of cheese should be expected. That said, a lot of the dialogue in the trailer wasn't as good as I'd hoped.

I imagine that Kojima sits at his desk, spending a lot time and effort cherry-picking lines he thinks sounds cool, but the effect maybe doesn't translate as well as he'd hoped.
