Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It was probably more of a confirmation if anything that it's going to both systems. MGS may not be exclusive anymore, but it will never leave Sony.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Saw the extended trailer. Very glad, its far more interesting than the initial version.

Very gruesome and gory especially for Metal Gear. I get what Koji meant now but I still think Hayters voice would fit in perfectly there, its not 100% realistic, ya know. Ocelots new voice is quite exaggerated imo

I think thats Paz getting that box pulled out of her insides (ouch!) Slow deaths to the PeaceWalker cast please! Im feeling like that Eli kid will be Liquid, which would be awesome. Why is Emmirech getting tortured by Ocelot?? Who is that exra guy with the berret, Cambell? Hopefully a new guy

BigBoss becoming merciless now thank god, were finally seeing his transformation to a villain! Child soldiers, blood diamonds and torture, oh yeah hes going there.
I love that wink at the TX-55 Metal Gear from the original.

The retcons will still be rife in this game though! Miller lost his arm and leg (what a shame!) as well as all those scars on his BBs face. Also being 49 shouldn't he be grey by now??

Wasn't Ocelot's voice always exaggerated? and that guy in the berret is Kaz. You can tell because of his missing arm, hair, glasses.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Absolutely loved the new trailer, I'm starting to feel that MGS hype that I always feel when a new one is coming out.

Sutherland's voice just sounds so right, I don't think I'd actually like Hayter back to play Big Boss, Solid Snake? That's Hayter, no question, no discussion, but BB is already another boat for me.

I like BB's look very much, the horn, the robot arm, the ponytail, everything, they made him interesting looking in PW and they reinvented him again on MGSV, so sad that the best Solid Snake ever looked was in MGS1, now I really wish the MG remakes were in plans.

Ocelot looks great, no complaints there, he does look old but BB looks older for sure.

And all those gruesome scenes, definitely feels more mature.

Also that thing BB rides at the end, like a mini metal gear, so glad it looks according to the time period, I understand why some people thought PW was a little over the edge, but this time it's really looks like it fits, very rough looking robot.

The story looks very interesting, blood diamonds, child soldiers, all the new characters.

I was emotionally involved since the 1st trailer, now I got reminded why Kojima is the best director in the gaming industry, no question.

It's gonna be hard to wait.

I wonder how the GZ/PP release will be.

A recent tweet "MGS Ground Zeroes is a prologue of The Phantom Pain and these two titles put together is MGSV!" Sooooooo it's not the same game.........but the same game? Kojima making this way more complicated than it needs to be

Dude, it's Kojima.

Plus, add the fact that he's getting senile to that lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

no doubt it's better to get it on the nex gen consoles than current ones to enjoy it more

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I agree with those saying this new trailer was better, I wish I never watched the shortened one first. There is a more definite tone, and the story parts they showed had me intrigued. My previous criticisms still stand, but I feel much better about it all now. I hope it gets released this year on PS4, that would be great.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Not that I know of (sorry if my post made it sound like I knew something lol). I'm trying to find any info but there's nothing it seems. :(

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well I would certainly feel better if I saw a sign or even a post it that it said that MGSV would be multiplatform....

That #Xboxoneexclusive twitter hashtag is coming back to me now...

It has already been confirmed that MGSV will be on Xbox 360/One and PS3/4.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I love that the stealth and combat is getting more fluid and "realistic" like Splinter Cell has always been. I always was put off by that old school video-gamey feel of previous MGS. Some people call it "trademark", but **** it.

If you mean serious, then by all means, SC is more serious than MGS when it comes to it's setting and stories, but not even close to MGS depth.

And after conviction, "fluid stealth" translates to casual stealth in SC.

I think MGS3 and MGS4 were already more fluid and realistic in the stealth department than any SC game.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Replaying MGS1 on PSX. God so many feels right now. This game still holds up extremely well imo.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I've only played 1-3 SC. They were always more "believable" in animation and in use than MGS. No cardboard boxes, no twitchy quick animations, and clunky combat. It doesn't take an animation expert to see that the animating and elements in SC was in general, more believable.

I like things that take skill, MGS was one of those games where it uses funky controls as a substitute for skill. Talk to me about DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Dota, Counter Strike, or whatever any day, those are deep games with good, smooth, controls (and animations, sans CS I suppose, those can be twitchy quick).
