Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Good luck, he's not even doing anything with his voice to hide it. I think it will be the most glaring problem with most players. I just don't think his voice fits the persona.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm more interested to see the game's performance. No way is this gonna run on current gen without some significant performance hit. And since it's for next gen too, will it be 1080p 60fps? So many questions!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I can't see it coming out in current gen, current gen will soon be obsolete. It will probably be out the end of next year on the newer consoles.

Have to say I agree. I may pay David Hayter to record all the lines of dialogue throughout the game and then when I play it just hit play on the dictaphone. :clap

Current gen is already obsolete. Multiplatform games are miles better looking and performing on the PC and quite frankly, I wouldn't mind MGSV skipping out current gen all together.

I'm not sure why the decision was made to have this game on both current gen consoles and next gen. Seems a bit strange even for Kojima. I think (or rather, hope) as months past we might see this exclusively next gen.. :dunno

I think it was more Konami than Kojima on the decision to throw it on Xbox. I honestly think, other than creative direction he doesn't have any control over MGS as a brand.

Kojima confirmed on his twitter yesterday that the game will still be on this current gen as well as next gen. Not sure how that will work out :gah:

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Don't forget the open world vastness! The draw distance in the trailer seems too good for current gen.

Oh WTF! Why even do that? The PS3/360 versions will have their ballz cut off compared to the next gen experience.

The ground zeroes demo was on PS3 hardware and it looked fine to me. If course it won't look as good as the next gen, but to me, it looked great already.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It sure did. I just find it hard to believe that it wasn't on a PC.

There is no way that the footage of Big Boss riding through the desert was on current gen. It was too damn pretty to be.

The first ground zeroes demo was on PC with Xbox 360 controller......

I was unaware on what it was on, but I pretty much assumed it was PC. The raining and water effects on the Sneaking Suit and his face were insane.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

As far as the game setting being Africa, I remember that they said that the whole world would be the setting of the game....

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm sure it will be the nicest looking PS3 game there will be, so I'm not concerned over getting a new console for this at all.

How was Metal Gear Rising BTW? Worth a purchase at all?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well not in GZ, but in TPP it will probably end in Africa with the construction of Outer Heaven.

Where the hell is Frank Yeager? He was supposed to be Big Boss's most trusted Lieutenant.

Rising was a very pleasant surprise. I was a bit heated that it would deface the ending to MGS4. But the story is so over the top with the technology and doesn't even really touch on anything from the Snake universe other than a few things peppered in.

It's very non canon to me so I was able to enjoy it. Plus, the gameplay and soundtrack were amazing. I definitely want a sequel.

I'm glad you're never told Snake's fate, but they do mention him. Raiden comes off as a Snake fanboy when he describes his skills to Kevin (one of the codec support crew)
