Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Seems Kojima was asked about solid snake

Q .Keither Sutherland was cast as Snake because of their comparable age. Solid Snake would be about 12 in this time line... who would be your ideal candidate to voice him?

A.Well he's a child... I don't know if I have someone to recommend but let me think! (laughs) At the same time I don't even know if Solid Snake will make an appearance in this game. If we said anything right now it would be a spoiler and bad for the fans, so we're going to stay away from that question.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It'll make more sense to include Liquid, since he spent some time in the Middle East and grew up thinking that Big Boss was his father.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

And I think Big Boss goes in and kills Chico, we see him using a cross collar choke and then the kid going limp, either passes out or dead. The reason I think this is as that's happening Miller is talking about doing wetworks and it says heroes become demons and stuff like that. I think the reason he is "Punished Snake" and a is a "fallen legend" or whatever it says is because he has been doing assassination jobs.

Also, the "horn" I think is a cool touch. Big Boss is supposed to be this legendary mercenary. If you look at a lot of the mercenaries that have achieved notoriety, they often have some eccentricities. Some like the infamous Col. Callan in Angola in the 1970s went to great lengths to create a legend around themselves. The shrapnel appears as a horn, lending to this legend he's a "demon" especially when talking about dealing with third-world villagers and stuff like that.

I'm definitely praying he kills Chico, he was beyond annoying. I guess the horn isn't too silly when I think about it. But in terms of continuity, why is Big Boss all cleaned up in MGS4? The whole stealing body parts off the clones is ridiculous, especially since Liquid's body was stolen and used by everyone.

:exactly:

It might be that BB was going to rescue Chico (in the first trailer) and when he found him, he learn that he has betrayed his compas yet again. But this time causing the fall of MSF (or Outer Heaven as BB called it) and death of hundreds soldiers.

Yeah... I would totally kill him.

Oh, I agree, no doubt. It's a bit crazy that apparently Big Boss and Master Miller have been basically rebuilt over the years.

Also, if you take a look at some hi-res closeups of Big Boss, you can see horizontal scars going across the temples and ears, with suture marks. HE must have had some serious injuries and had a lot of work done. His face is quite scarred up.

Really looking forward to this.

I think the nose and eye scars are cliche, but I really dig the suture scar above his eyebrow.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well, it just seems weird, that if Cipher had Big Boss then suddenly decided out of the blue - "hey, let's just have him return to the U.S". Big Boss and Zero had long since crossed the point of no return - especially considering Les Enfants Terribles and all of the tragedies that befell him and his comrades.

But, whatever scenario plays out in the actual storyline, I just hope that it makes sense :lol.

They got Keifer maybe they could get some writers from 24 too, you know they'd find a way lol.

What i wanna know is where Zero is in the Government Hierarchy. Do the Patriots control everything yet? What happened to the remaining philosophers, did he take control of that regime too?

Was JFK being controlled by the Philosophers in MGS3 or was it a genuine elected government?

My guess is Kojima will ignore all those details. I would actually prefer that if the answers are as stupid as in MGS4
