Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hayter isn't some bum nobody. He's been invested in this franchise for close to 20 years, what's the big deal about keeping him around and making him do the mocap?

No matter how successful another tiresome Big Boss story is, it's unforgivable what was done to Hayter.

And I wouldn't doubt Gray Fox is a ****ing ninja again this time around. I'll take a human ninja Fox over ****ing singing robots any day of the week.

I agree its just nonsense.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

If he wanted to have a punished sounding Snake, just make Hayter pullback on the voice. But no, he wanted star appeal instead of being truthful.

Honestly I get he wanted someone different for the role fine but hayter has played BB twice already.

Actually three times. MGS3 MPO PW. You've already got the whole fanbase attached to Hayter as Big Boss, why now?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

David isn't commenting on the new trailer (despite him being at E3). I think he's just letting it be until something comes up.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's not refreshing when you're stuck with the same character.

Well you're stuck with it cause you no longer like the character, for me it's a ride, and I feel it was a step in the right direction.

Well, it's not Hayter's acting that's getting stale I'll tell ya that. :lol

To be honest, by MGS4 and PW his voice was already too forced and just unnatural, so in a way yeah, it was stale.

If there's any suspicious behaviour its how they're completely ignoring Hayter. He was in the MGS20th anniversary and was even in MGS4s intro videos. It doesnt make sence to pretend he doesn't exist. They don't even mention his name anywhere anymore ???

In terms of mo-cap, Kojima claims Hayter isnt back because he wants a true actor to do the face, but if the next game wants the full face and body then they implied even Keifer wouldn't be back next time, so why would hayter :(

To be honest, by MGS4 and PW his voice was already too forced and just unnatural, so in a way yeah, it was stale.

gotta say i kinda agree with ya. He was great in MGS4 but in Peace Walker his voice started to almost parody himself. He needs to tone the gruff down to realistic levels again!

again im fine with Keifer as BigBoss, but Hayter should always be Solid Snake. Im extremely surprised no journalist has asked Kojima about this yet!

Just saw this. What are your takes on it?

I'm honestly getting tired of these damn conjectures. Frank Jaeger was always referred to as Gray Fox, or just Fox (for short form). He was never a "Snake". The person in the trailer is Big Boss. People just need to accept that Kojima retcons the series as he pleases. The change in Big Boss's eye color from blue to brown to green is a very minor issue, considering all of the mess that happened with the storyline from MGS 4 to Peace Walker.

Also, Gray Fox detested guns. He preferred to use either blades (katanas, machetes, etc) or his bare fists - compared to the person in that trailer who is clearly using an assault rifle.

It's Big Boss. Let's never speak of it again. End of story :slap.

.................Meryl is Big Boss.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Just watched the E3 trailer for the first time.

Gameplay, graphics all look amazing.

It looks like they're turning Snake into the bad guy in this one. Did he shoot those kids in the cage?

One thing though, i hate how this seems more related to Peace Walker than Snake Eater

I guess he's shooting those people, they do make it seem that way, which is awesome seeing him becoming evewl! :nana:

And graphics sure will make the game even more immersive.

Well, it was actually PW that pave almost everything for the setting of MGSV

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Been watching the analysis vids o get caught up. A comment mentioned just a name Phineas Gage. Ths was a man who had a rod plunge through his skull yet he survived. His personality was said to have changed because of this.

Perhaps the metal horn in BBs skull will become a reason for his increased villiany
