Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Been watching the analysis vids o get caught up. A comment mentioned just a name Phineas Gage. Ths was a man who had a rod plunge through his skull yet he survived. His personality was said to have changed because of this.

Perhaps the metal horn in BBs skull will become a reason for his increased villiany

Regarding to big boss turning bad if the horn is the cause then thats just lazy writing its 2013 kojima needs to come up with something better then that.

Making Big Boss the bad guy and it's not even his choice really is retarded. He's doing anything to write him off as the good guy.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

so the horn thing turns big boss into a bad guy is the same as a Guy who got banged at the head and turns into a Diff person?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Sounds like terrible story telling.

It's almost like he's got a grudge against Snake. He tried shoving him out the door immediately with MGS2.

Making Snake the secret villain undermines the whole Snake era.

I'm surprised Big Boss isn't sporting the Evil Twin Goatee.

Like I dont get what he has to complicate things .just show the boss stuggle to keep it together show him drinking being paranoid just thinks to much laying out his options. If true about the horn this is the dumbest idea since liquid was taking over ocelot in mgs2

At least MGS3 gave that a logical explanation, sort of. But retconning it out was one of the blunders of the many blunders of MGS4.

It's like he refuses to make Big Boss truly a hate-able character.

I had a big problem how he lost his eye thought he was going to Get totrured but he gets shot in it he should have died there's never the simple approached with kojima.

Well he wanted to have this weird link between him and Ocelot. Personally, the Boss should of cut it out.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

would have been more personal if done that way.

It would of been better this way since it would of shown how unwavering the Boss was in completing her mission and not blowing her cover. You can tell she was hesitating.

Agreed, Ocelot doing it was a little anti-climatic. Although that whole scene was pretty intense!

What ever Kojima is gonna do, it has to be great acting/writing to make BigBoss a bad guy. He was always a good guy through all the games soo far. Keifer has the acting chops so hopefully we'll see Kojima step up too
If he's lazy then he'll ignore any character development and make SolidSnake the Patriots puppet by killing BigBoss and his "good guy" plans :slap

It's going to happen. I know people are probably tired of reading us complain about Koji's writing. I just hope people know how idiotic a move it was in doing a 180 with Big Boss's character. It undermines most of the franchise making him the secret good guy.

Solidus should be the only anti-hero. His motives were crystal clear.

:goodpost::exactly: you just don't know if BB will really be a bad guy in this game the trailer shows it but can be misleading.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

There's so much tragedy that has happened to Big Boss, that there isn't a need to make him "accidentally evil". The premises are already there: he was tricked into killing his mentor in MGS 3; betrayed by the government on multiple occasions; lost his comrades in very horrible ways; tortured and disfigured occasionally.

I agree, the horn does seem to have a purpose in changing his personality. It might not actually be the case, but it suck ballz if Kojima chooses to go that route.

I can almost guarantee that for the next two games it's going to be about him trying to get rid of Zero and his plans are foiled in MG1 :lol

What exactly was he going to do in MG1 to stop Zero? Launch a nuke from TX-55 at what exactly?

I can't handle anymore retcons.

:exactly:

Accidentally Evil, well put. Just make him bad and be done with it with this bull**** round about route there.
