Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I can almost guarantee that for the next two games it's going to be about him trying to get rid of Zero and his plans are foiled in MG1 :lol

What exactly was he going to do in MG1 to stop Zero? Launch a nuke from TX-55 at what exactly?

I can't handle anymore retcons.

who knows Kojima can retcons Mg1 if that happens i’m done.:lol

That's unavoidable since MG1 and MG2 are so outdated in terms of their story. I think whenever Koji is done with Big Boss were going to end up getting the Boss game set in WWII before Solid Snake's return >_>

We probably will doubt well ever play with Solid Snake again.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Naaah I really don't think the horn is going to make him evil, it's only symbolic and aesthetic, that would be dumb.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah, it would be ****ty.

They might as well throw in some voodoo since they are in africa at one point :lol

I wouldn't put it past them. Remember Vulcan Raven's shaman abilities to control crows, and The Sorrow's ability to communicate with the dead? Yup, seems likely that we're going to be in for gnarly mojo and ****.... :monkey1

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

But if it does? Then its just ****ty writing.

Yeah, it would be ****ty.

It's all speculation but it wouldn't be akin to voodoo since an object in the brain can and has corrupted peoples personalities.

Oh, no doubt about it. I'd argue, that you can't be a true fan of Metal Gear Solid unless you're able to critique it. As much as I love this series, I'm not going to fluff it up and say that I agree everything that Kojima has done. It seems like he's lost his way in this thing, ever since MGS 4.

Just to think, that years back, he was very concerned about putting NVGs in Metal Gear Solid 3, because the technology didn't exist in the 60s. And compare that to Kojima now, where he has no qualms about including super-powered AI mechs in a storyline that takes place in the 70s and 80s (the Peace Walker story arc).

In addition to all of the redundant themes, and utter lack of character development in Big Boss in all of the games that he has appeared in. Hopefully, GZ/TPP sets the series back on track to a more coherent storyline - and hopefully, it paves the way for Solid Snake's return.

:exactly:

I didn't realize that he had issue with NVG goggles in the 60's. He looks like a big ****ing hypocrite now doesn't he? MGS always pushed the envelope with tech within the series but it was always based on in-development tech so it wasn't out of the realm of reason.

I'll give him the Shagohod, it wasn't crazy advanced, but ZEKE? In 1974? GTFO.

I'm glad most of us are in agreement on the fumbling in the last few games.
