Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I always wondered why Solid Snake was always after those who are aftering the Patriots "The Bigger Evil" .. Big Boss, Liquid, Solidus, Ocelot ..if Big Boss, Liquid, Solidus, Ocelots ..etc Stopped the Patriots, they'll be doing humanity a big favor

I never understood why the story was built that way. But in MGS4, it was actually a good reason since he was under the assumption that Liquid Ocelot wanted to gain control of the entire system. Which also brings up why the hell did Ocelot play Liquid when he could of been himself and brought Snake in to help since they had the same goal.

And also, why did Eva jump into the fire after Solidus's body, knowing fully that it was Solidus and not Big Boss?

The entire European act was like an elaborate hoax to trick Snake :lol :slap.

I can understand how Snake was tricked and used by The Patriots. But, why everyone else? Hell, even Drebin doesn't tell Snake what was going on, and he was seeking freedom from the system.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

wasn't it Raiden who Retrieved Big Boss Body to Eva? while in reality he actually retrieved solidus body and Eva thought it was Big boss ..than again how did Big Boss got body parts from Liquid and Solidus while he was under Patriot or Zero's grasp

Well, Eva was the one who orchestrated the retrieval of Solidus's body to use as spare parts to rebuild Big Boss. Ocelot then took control of part of the system prior to the Mid-East incident with Snake. Remember when Ocelot freed the soldiers from the nanomachine control of The Patriots and they started to have convulsions? Ocelot was then able to use JD to reveal the location of Big Boss and he was able to retrieve him.

But, it still doesn't explain why Eva killed herself knowing that it was Solidus :lol. Maybe she was doing other things with his body... you know his "lower parts". And she grew attached to it and couldn't let it go :monkey1 :horror.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

MGS4's story is so bad i'm just going to forget it even has one

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hey, MGSV related, have you guys heard of this rumor? Someone had posted this on Twitter...I thought it was pretty interesting.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

That's an interesting theory, but I can't see any validity to that. It would destroy replay value.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I thought about that myself once and instantly just ignored it. I'm assuming he stops smoking real cigars when the electric ones are created, his hair grows out and into a pony tail, he gets his scars and a new eyepatch. That or what we saw from the first proper trailer is the beta models etc, a lot changes from the firdt trailers sometimes.
And is it just me or can you actually see Kiefer Sutherland through the model? How he hangs himself and his manerisms just make me imagine Kiefer really doing the animations. The eye especially

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The decoy idea just seems to fit everything. And we know Kojima likes pulling stuff like this.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

His voice does not fit MGS at all

Kiefer Sutherland can't voice act, and he sounds like freakin' Jack Bauer all the time. Big Boss's voice is going to sound so out-of-place when he starts screaming in that high-pitched Bauer tone. "Where is the bomb!". Omg... :lol :slap

As someone who has seen all of the episodes of 24, as well as all of Kiefer's movies, I can firmly say to anyone who isn't familiar with him that it's not going to be good. As much as I like the guy, I'd have to say that he was an extremely odd choice for this.

I'd like to believe that Kojima isn't that insane to pull something like that. Until I see it with my own eyes, I'm going to say that it's Big Boss.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I wouldnt mind if somewhere in the story Big Boss was decoy octo, but not in a game where you actually play as him. I dont want to play as Decoy Octoboss knowing he dies in the cell on shadow moses because of foxdie. I dont like playing games where you know how they die before you even pick up the pad. (Big Boss aside, as we had a game pre-mgs4 death)

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I kind of like Kiefer Sutherland for Big Boss now, as long as Hayter will always be Solid I'm happy. Originally I was annoyed at the change but I've stopped caring, Kiefer can act so they chose him, it means he can do the facial scans and animation to movie quality, Hayter is just a writer. No-one complained at Richard Doyle voicing Big Boss

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Mostly because we're not playing as him, and it would make sense considering his age. I doubt anyone would mind if Keifer voiced BB in say, a Metal Gear remake but not in MGSV.
