Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Great point no one does why kill off your only memorable villain besides Birkin imo.

Saddler was alright, aside from Birkin who technically wasn't a villain no one holds a candle to Wesker. And that goes across the board for all Capcom's villains.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I was playing Resident Evil 2 the other night and it just depresses me how ******* high that franchise is fallen.

The same could be said for Tomb Raider. The classic games, buggy and unrealistically portioned as they were, had a genuine sense of discovery and most of all, an identity. You genuinely could not predict what will happen next in the gameplay and that keeps you hooked.

The reboot is all action and for a lack of a better word, charted.

Ive got a soft spot for the Ashford Twins. Because their history goes back before Wesker even. Alfreds blind devotion for his sister as he literally treated her like a queen. Then Alexia herself who literally was a queen of sorts and completely "Queen bee" wanting to make the world her hive.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Didn't play it, I want to but from the trailers it's definitely trying to be Uncharted.

Ah T-Veronica, the last good mutagen.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well, there was some nice T-abyss mutations too!

This is one hella crazy MGS thread!

Kojima = pervert. We didnt need to see Paz in her underwear. Its a good job platinum got Rising or Sunny would of been half naked too

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

And here I was so scared of Rising tarnishing the series, now I'm tugging my pudd at the idea of a sequel.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think theres literally 90 minutes of Johnny Tsaki cut scenes in MGS4 and thats probably more than all of Risings cut scenes put together. Give me more of Rising than Solid if thats where the franchise is headed.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

They are fantastic. I played Soul Reaver, then Soul Reaver 2. Ive been playing Blood Omen 2, then ill play defiance and ill top it off with the original Blood Omen. (All though i should of went Blood Omen, Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Defiance then blood omen 2 for the timeline) I also recently bought the BBI Dumah Figure (he is the last " brother" in Soul Reaver and there was only ever a hand full made) but he wont be here till next week. It was my fave franchise back in the day. MGS and RE didnt come close to me.

Hence my MGS/RE/LOK display!

Its a shame nobody made a Gabe Logan

A great combination of games...

Only one has retained it's integrity...

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Is it the one who hasnt had a game for 9 years?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Lots of changes in Mgs5

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

All the minor changes seem to be for the better, in favor of immersion, the action will always be non stop, the only few things that kinda worry me are the slow mo alert, while it sounds very cool, I hope it's countered by the AI being overly difficult and smart, or that it can be turned off in higher difficulties.

And the blood on screen instead of a life bar, as long as it's not regenerative and doesn't look bad, then ok.

Everything else looks fantastic, seems like it's gonna be a blast to play it.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yeah but I hope it is like MGS3&4 where it was waaaay slow, not just run&cover for a few seconds and you're good to go.

Any mention of that?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So I think by now its pretty obvious Kojima has been kidnapped and replaced with Liquid Kojima.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

This all sounds awesome to except for:

1) Keifers bland delivery #MissingHayter

2) Weapon Wheel - Originally the old menu popped up then disappeared after selecting a weapon in TTP demo

3)Regenerating Heatlh - unless its slooooooow like MGS3

But this smoother and faster stealth is definitely the way to go to evolve the series!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

with the new features almost sounds like Splinter Cell
